I WISH zero stars was a thing. Not only did I have to search for people 8 times because a machine ate my money or wouldn't give us our tickets that we won, at one point I looked for over 30 minutes for an employee and couldn't find a single one. Why? Because they were all in the back room that says "private" on the door, so I knocked repeatedly and an employee pops his head out and told me it was uncalled for (which after 30 minutes of looking because a machine ate my money, it's not) My father has been taking me here since I was a child and now we take our nieces here, today I was there and got over 5,000 tickets. My niece wanted a tiger that cost 7,500 tickets, for the past 10 years my father has been "paying the difference" between tickets and for the last 5 years I've been doing so for my nieces, normally it was a penny for every ticket we were missing. The girls behind the counter told me straight up that I was lying and that it's been the same "no buy" policy for 10 years. She laughed in my face and told me to "just spend what I had won" I paid over $100 to get the tickets that I had and if I want to give them money to make my nieces happy, they should have happily accepted the $25 I was willing to pay for a $5 tiger for my niece. My family and I will never return to Funarama and we will definitely go to one of the other 4 arcades on the block. You'd think the owner would hire friendlier staff who are willing to work and fix problems knowing that customers can easily go to one of the...
Read moreThis is definitely one of the best arcades i've been to in recent years. It's been around for a long time now and I make sure to go there every summer. It's just a really good arcade all around they got a very good variety of games from the classics to new ones. Really the only sorta bad thing I can think of is like their DDR works when it wants to work like the 1P side barely works at all (the last time I tried it tho correct me if im wrong now.) but the 2P side works almost perfect but sometimes the left arrow doesn't work but most of the time it fully works. But it's a really cool ddr machine it's humongous. Anyways the end of the story? If you ever go to hampton beach and you love arcades? 100...
Read moreMost fun place on earth? No. However, it's more than just an arcade. There is history here. Its about the nostalgia. Okay, so there are games that are incredibly old. There are also brand new games. Huge games. Its all about having fun. The prizes are kinda, well, just like most arcades, dumb. Is it a great way to get out of the sun? Yeah, if you like feeling hot air being blown around. It's not perfect, we get it. BUT at least this place isn't like every single sweatshirt shop along the strip. They offer something no one else does. So, until another /real/ arcade magically shows up, they are looking...
