I wasn't entirely sure what to expect what to expect when I was inquiring about this tour. I had in mind walking through some sort of house, or other building or structure, being lead by the host on some sort of spooky tour. In reality, we were put on a trolley, which I thought was taking us to a house to walk through. When you are on the trolley, that is where the majority of the haunted tour takes place. It was the first haunted tour I've been on that is done entirely inside a vehicle. That being said, the tour guide was informative, was well versed with the area and history of Hannibal, and also knew some of the people personally in the stories that were told. Mike, the guide, was funny, and seemed very passionate in his work. The trolley stopped several places through historic Hannibal, and each place had something to add to the experience. There were pictures that were passed around with some of the stories, and a ghost hunt at the end, in the Old Baptist Cemetery. The proceeds from the ghost tour help fund the museum, so I encourage those interested to take the tour, and check out the museum, too. Between the two, there is a lot to offer and check out. Support local, I'm sure there is something for everyone...
Read moreI'm visiting Hannibal for the weekend and had wanted to enjoy the festival. DISAPPOINTING weekend. VERY disorganized. IF the organizers want to continue, they'd better to a MUCH better job in the future. Saturday was cool. Purchased tickets for the Haunted Tour on Sunday night (as Saturday night was sold out) and the Home Tour for Monday. On Sunday night I, with my sister and her husband, arrived when I was told to be there at 6:15p. We had ALREADY PAID for our tickets, upon arrival we were told that our tickets couldn't be found. We were told on Saturday that the tickets could be picked up on Sunday. I thought it a bit weird, but thought..OK. What I found VERY INTERESTING is that we'd paid for our tickets, but others who had only reserved tickets (NOT PAID) were allowed to pay for their tickets. I"m SORRY, but I had paid for my tickets. WHY did they continue selling "reserved" tickets when I'd already paid. The ticket price was reimbursed, BUT I'm not able to enjoy the tour which was planned for the holiday weekend.....I am a VISITOR who now has a BAD TASTE concerning now things are ran...
Read moreAfter spending almost a WEEK to get a straight answer as to IF they would be open on a particular day, I was finally told Yes. We set up a reservation with our names and told what time to be there. When we arrived, the museum was closed..... even though we could clearly see a lady inside obviously ignoring us. The sign sitting out front said tours would start at 7pm (we were told 5 by the person I spoke with) Nobody would answer the phone, as we are looking straight at them INSIDE the building. We decided to go have some dinner at a nearby restaurant and wait to check back at 7pm (the time clearly and BOLDLY printer on the little sign sitting out front) but come 7pm STILL nothing! No message to tell us anything, and ignored phone calls. I did receive a message THE NEXT DAY apologizing and saying the were "decorating" EXTREMELY unorganized and complete waist of time! Dont hold your breath on attempting to make a reservation... it will be ignored...
