GREAT STORE ... GREAT PEOPLE Last week my wife and I were at Hannibal, MO as part of a trip we were taking with 3 other couples from South America. The trip is known as the Great River Road Trip, which basically follows the Mississippi River from MN to LA, through 10 states (great trip by the way!). While there, we went shopping and stopped at the Native American Trading Co. on North Main street. I purchased a pair of very pretty red moccasin shoes for my wife but forgot them in the store when we left. By the time we realized the shoes had been left in the store, it was late and we were in our way down to St. Louis. Since the store was closed by then, I called first thing the next morning. Mike, the owner, answered. I explained to him what has happened and asked him if there was any chance he could ship the shoes to an address in Texas where I could pick them up later in May. I told him if he would give me an account number I could transfer the money for the shipment. He was extremely polite and friendly and told me not to worry about, he would take care of it. Just give him the address in TX and he would ship them at no cost to me. I was amazed by such a nice gesture and told my friends that what Mike was doing was representative of what we had seen driving up to Hannibal: the nicest, kindest and friendliest people in the world. One of my friends made the comment that she would believe it when she see it. I told her she better did because the shoes were on their way to TX. And yesterday I was told by a friend that the shoes had made it to Texas and that they will be there for me to pick them up next month. Of course I told my incredulous friend first; she admitted she was wrong. Anyway, thank you very much Mike. Much appreciated! People like you always get rewarded. I hope your business stays prosperous always. ...
Read moreI love this place i enjoy looking at what they have. I have bought jewelry from this place twice. I dropped a couple of stars because the 2 older ladies that work there a extremely impatient and kind of rude. I was looking at rings and the prices were not exactly easy to find on them and they are very expensive and alot of them are not well cared for. The silver on many was tarnished (if you going to charge that much for jewelry you should probably clean more often and take better care of it.) I ended up asking about the ones behind her that had lower prices on them. And she got alittle crabby because she was getting impatient. I started trying on these rings I would find one my size she'd say " just buy it then". I did finally find a ring i liked and I purchased it and it is beautiful. I could see the relief on her face when I found the right one. The lady that rung me up...
Read moreThe art in inside is beautiful but the 2 older women working there were rude and never greeted us! On the other hand greeted and assisted everyone else who walked in. It's not your choice to judge me or my friends or family! It is not your choice to discrimination against me or my shopping experience. It's not the native way! You should not be representing this loving and inclusive culture if you dont embrace it yourself!...
