I work up the street from this TJmaxx location and I frequent there just about every week. I love the savings and quality of the items I purshase. However this evening I went there to return a pair of Lucky Brand jeans that I purchased on Oct 13th 2017 because they were too small for my son. Unfortunately I couldn’t find my receipt anywhere but I was confident there wouldn’t be a problem getting store credit. The jeans were only $14.99 and the price tag was still on the jeans, what happened next was humiliating. The cashier took the pants and she went to scan them on the other side to look up the item, she returned to me and said with a discussed face “we can’t take these back because the ticket on here says the jeans are black” (the were a dark blue denim wash) my mouth dropped. I said “how is that possible I never removed the tag ma’am” “would you be able to look it up with my debit card?” As I ask her the question the store manager (whom was staring with her arms crossed about 7ft away) just stood there and never came over to interject. I said ok and I asked the cashier for the store managers name and number, she turns to the woman standing 7ft away who was staring and says “she wants your name” (as if I wasn’t even standing there) the store manager whose name is Hope says to the cashier (without acknowledging me) “go head you can give it to her” I was shocked and very upset that as a frequent customer the manager never came over to offer assistance. So I looked over to her and said “are you unable to look up the transaction with my debit card?” She immediately starts moving her hands and shaking her head no “we don’t have that system here” then she goes on to say to the cashier “put the pants in a bag and give them back to her” she then walks off. I was so embarrassed I went to my car and cried. I am a property manager and not a thief or liar and I was made out to feel that way over a pair of $14.99 jeans. I will be reaching out to TJmaxx corporate and also reframing from shopping at any TJmaxx. I’ve never experienced that at Bloomingdales or Nordstrom’s and I’ve returned much more expensive items without a receipt. That was unacceptable and I will not stand to be mistreated in...
Read moreShopping here is straightforward, and finding what you need is typically easy. The recent rearrangement on the HomeGoods side seems to have improved navigation, making the experience more seamless.
The prices are unbeatable, and the quality is impressive for most items. I especially love certain brands that are exclusive to this store and regularly stock up on bath and body products here. The fitting room staff does an excellent job maintaining cleanliness and efficiency.
Customer service is inconsistent—there never seems to be anyone available on the floor to assist, and the registers are frequently understaffed. Some employees at checkout brighten the shopping experience, while others unfortunately dampen it. It can be frustrating when long lines form, stretching beyond the designated checkout area, while staff members chat instead of helping.
That said, I’ve noticed an improvement in organization and cleanliness, which is appreciated. I do wish they would swap the placement of the items inside the checkout line with those outside, making essentials like soaps and napkins easier to shop for without awkwardly navigating around people in line. While efficiency could be improved, this remains a great...
Read moreAVOID THIS STORE IF YOU POSSIBLY CAN SHOP ELSEWHERE!! Extremely negative experience with the rudest customer service employees. This is the 2nd time returning something and received the 3rd degree interrogation, rudeness, and intention to embarrass me, though I've purchased easily thousands of dollars worth of items over the past years. They sold me an item of 2 pieces which state they are both the same size, but one was clearly defective and much smaller. They said because I tried it on that they could no longer allow it to be returned even though its defective!! The head cashier, Doug, who is usually there and never nice, laughed at me when i asked him to read the balance on my gift card after i told him i couldnt read it without my glasses, and he threw the receipt towards me instead of handing it to me. Totally obnoxious. The on-shift supervisor, Tamara I believe (may have name wrong), who came out to help was argumentative and non-apologetic for Doug's behaviour until I asked her why she wasn't. She then became angry and said I wasn't giving her a chance to. I had been silent for quite awhile. So ridiculous and typical of this store. NEVER shopping...
