I had the strangest experience with returning an item today. I originally purchased a blazer from the Cove store after this (Harker Heights) location called and put it on hold for me as due to not having my size available. When I picked up the blazer, the nice lady at the Cove location told me about a loyalty program that would give me an instant saving just by signing up. She could tell i was in a rush so she just told me to txt a number to get the savings code. Never asked me for my name or anything. Transaction carried on... I left....
Fast forward to the return today. I called the store just to verify that I could return the item at the Heights location. I was told I could. So i arrived 5 mins later to do my return. When I walked in, the cashier immediately glared at the bag. Being a store owner, I know how it feels to have one of your first few transactions a return so I didnt pay it any mind. As I approached, I handed the cashier both the bag and receipt. She stared at the receipt for nearly a min so I began to wonder what was going on. Kinda like she was trying to figure out what she needed to do next... Then she ask for my ID. I immediately thought that was strange because what would my id be matched to on the receipt... The next thing she says is " let me go talk to my manager". At this point, im puzzled! Now I'm forgetful so immediately brought up my card transaction on my phone to see if I was out of a return window because what is going on... She returns and ask if I had the card that was used to complete the transaction... Ummm yes. So I handed it to her and her response was ""Whew.. Good".. 🤔 So I asked well what is going on. She says that the phone number thats on my loyalty rewards shows a different name ... I like 😳 but I never gave anyone my name. She proceeds to tell me the name (which is the previous owner of this here RECYCLED phone number) and that she had some one who recently returned an item that was stolen out of someone's car but she didnt check their id at the time and returned the item..😳. But she is glad that i "understand" lol. At this point she says she can update my name so Im glancing at the receipt like wait whatt?!?!. As Im looking the receipt up and down (my original) there is no name or phone number on it... But her copy has the name of "the person" but my email address and card info. I asked her well how are the names originally captured because I never gave my name during purchase. ? She says the name if captured by the phone number (calleer id... Which means it was doomed to be wrong)...So at this point im shocked because her initial thought was .. Im returning stolen items..😔
I waited a few hours after leaving and called both the Cove location and Harker Heights location. When I spoke to the Cove location, I asked the lady what are the procedures for a return. What would I need to bring and order to complete one? She stated: receipt, item, and the card used to complete the transaction.. IF I DONT have the receipt then she could attempt to look my transaction up by phone number. Sounds right. So I called the Heights Location and guess who answers lol. I asked her what are the proper procedures of a return because I felt uncomfortable with her approach.. She goes to tell me the traditional steps but includes the id followed by the theft story she gave me earlier that day. She then ends it with, im not sure how other locations do it but this is how we do it. Lol. If there is a set procedure, i wouldn't have an issue... But to immediately think that I may have stolen the item, the receipt, my id, and debit card is absolutely hurtful and I will not shop with this...
Read moreI rarely write reviews, but this Maurices visit was so bad it deserves one. I walked in and immediately asked if they offered a military discount (it’s literally posted on the window). I was told yes. Fast-forward to checkout after being in the store for well over an hour: not only had the associate (Heather, per my receipt) ignored my budget and pushed $70+ items at me, but then she told me she “couldn’t add” the military discount because I mentioned it “too late in the transaction.” No — I asked at the very beginning. That’s on her, not me.
And while I was still shopping she disappeared to the back for several minutes, only to come back out on the phone, ignoring me for nearly 30 minutes. The only positive? The store was mostly clean — except for a dead cockroach right by the front door.
The entire experience felt like a high-pressure sales pitch. She kept hammering me about opening a store credit card — I said no at least five times — and even after I refused she tried to sell me jewelry I had already explained I cannot wear. Every interaction felt scripted and forced, right down to an awkward, uncomfortable conversation at the register as she pushed the credit card yet again. This wasn’t customer service, it was harassment.
This location has gone completely downhill. Pushy sales tactics, zero listening, and unprofessional behavior. I will NEVER shop here again and I hope management takes a serious look at how customers are...
Read moreFrom the moment I walked in Valerie greeted me kindly and asked if I needed any help. I told her I was going to a Pink concert and that I had NO IDEA what to wear. She asked for my sizes, and I gave her the freedom to style me however. We tried a few shirts, pants, and even a jean jacket. I gave her my personal opinion on what I felt good in and what just didn't seem like me, and the very next outfit was the winner. It had some rock 'n roll style but unbelievably comfortable! She heard me, and made me feel comfortable in being myself, but also stepping up my style at the same time. I went to the concert and of course had a blast, but I didn't have to worry about my pants falling down or my shirt showing my bra strap. I loved the weekender pants so much I bought them in 2 out of the 3 colors! AHEM (Please get the green ones in stock!) :) I was just passing through town and last minute decided to stop by. I am bummed she doesn't work at the Waco location (no hate on them- Valerie just rocks!). Thank you Valerie for being honest in the way you helped me fit and feel comfortable in the awesome outfit you picked out. You have great customer service skills. But even better- I can tell you have a good heart....
