First, I want to say that the golf course is very nice and well maintained. It is well worth the price (11$/person) for 18 holes. You can also purchase food but I cannot touch on that as we ate at Dockside Willies right across the bridge from here (definitely recommend). The staff is also very friendly.
City Island has many other things such as a beach area with a bar, this is located on the tip of the island. They have outhouses in the area but if you go over by the beach section there is a building and the regular bathrooms are nice and clean.
Second, they have a mini train that you can ride around the island. A carousel and the Senators baseball stadium. I am sure there are other things I have missed but this is definitely a relaxing island to visit when there isn’t a game happening. I am sure it gets hectic and packed when the Senators play lol
The only negative note is that the parking signs were confusing! There were signs for “Handicap permit parking” but we weren’t sure what that even meant. My husband is handicap so did we need a permit or was his placard good enough 🤔 Also there were other signs right next to it that said “No vehicles beyond this point” so yes it was definitely very confusing. Anyway we parked near the entrance but had to walk a pretty far distance before reaching the mini golf. My husband was unfortunately exhausted and he had to rest before beginning to play. I am not sure if there was another place to park closer or another means of transportation to get us there. Overall we would definitely recommend visiting the Island just be prepared...
Read moreThis mini golf course has a beautiful setting... But needs a touch of paint and cleaning. That didn't detract from the course though.
Please note: This is a tough course, especially for kids, or adults that haven't played much. By the second hole, there is no rails on the back for the ball to roll right off adding a stroke.
By the second hole we stopped keeping score as our 6 year old daughter had never played, and as we added strokes, she got upset by her older brother teasing her. Just keep in mind that the skill level of this course is much higher than the normal mini golf courses with loops, and windmills, etc.
There is even a hole that has a deep concave pipe right next to the hole to spit the ball back to you at the top of its steep hill. Lol. Troll level golf course for sure.
Other than that, it is a very nice course, and if you're looking for a challenge you have found it.
Also, you can drive back there, just go through the gate off the main lot that says "Vehicles left" with a "No vehicles" sign right behind it. You'll see dozens of...
Read moreWater golf on on City Island is one of my favorite places in Harrisburg besides the family feeling you get you can't beat the prices 1.50 snow, ice cream, nachos, there's something for everyone and you could feed the whole family for under 20 bucks. The atmosphere is friendly and safe feeling with lots to do for kids and adults. Pets are welcome and usually plenty of them around and even a snack stand for them. The only thing I don't like is they allow cars to drive around the island which adds a bit of a safety concern. If you haven't visited recently you should. Water golf is always fun, catch a Senators game, or chill by the river, plus the prices can't be beat. Miss the arcade hope they...
