For years, due to a friend’s referral, I had used a high-end florist in New York City through which to send flowers. It has since closed, and I wanted to send some to my sister-in-law, so I did a Google search of “best florist near Hackensack.” I couldn’t help but notice the number of five star reviews Bill O’Shea‘s had, and after reading many of them, I decided to make an order online. It was quick and easy, and the flowers were delivered the next day as promised. My sister-in-law was thrilled, and they are exactly what I requested (bright colors including yellow and orange - but not exclusively so - with a few roses).
My only constructive criticism – and I know the owner will read this because they respond to reviews (an engaged owner is another reason why I chose them) - is I didn’t see a way to add a tip for the delivery driver if you order the “Designer’s Choice.” This choice allows you to name a price point and make a few requests, but leaves the construction of the bouquet up to the florist. Luckily, I had snooped around the website and had seen the option to add a delivery tip for set bouquets (e.g., “Nature’s Glory” or “THE PERFECT DOZEN”). The way I was able to leave a tip for the driver was to, in addition to my “Designer’s Choice,” put one of the set bouquets in my cart, add the optional driver tip, then remove the set bouquet. Dear Owner, I hope you can fix this!
I’ll be sure to call upon Bill O’Shea’s again. I am thrilled to support a local small business, and they’re now my new go-to florist!
EDIT: I snooped around some more, and it seems like the “Designer’s Choice” that is under “Best Sellers” (the one starting at $75.00) is the only one that has no delivery tip option. There are more expensive “Designer Choice” options, and the delivery tip option is there. It’s still something I hope...
Read moreI chose this shop for my wedding flowers because of the reviews and by speaking to one of the men who work there (or is the owner). However, I need to say it was a terrible experience today.
When I spoke with the gentleman on the phone, he was very responsive and knowledgeable (that’s why I wanted to hire them for my wedding). Not once had he mentioned I needed an appointment. He said I can just come to the shop, even ensuring I have the right address.
I showed up today and the shop was really busy. I get it’s a Mother’s Day weekend and probably I should have come on a different day, but this was the only weekend I was free to do so. When I mentioned I was there to book my wedding flowers, the young woman with dark hair at the front made a comment to her colleagues, “Not on a Mother’s Day weekend” (with an attitude). Sorry but that’s inappropriate. You simply don’t make comments like that in front of your client. In the end, I was told I need an appointment and that they are busy.
If someone just said to me, “We’re sorry, we’re very busy today and we’re sorry you were not told you needed an appointment. Just give us a call and we can schedule something for you”, I would have NO problem with that, but the service I’ve received today was so bad, I will not use them for my wedding or any...
Read moreI called on Saturday spoke to a woman. I asked specific questions such as, do you deliver on Sunday? Can it be delivered by 11am? Everything was confirmed yes and my card was charged. I do not live in NJ I took the reviews on this site as honest feedback. I no doubt believe their flowers are great, but their customer service was by far surprising how terribly I was treated. I called Monday and spoke to an owner who simply said “I’m my system” referring to it being delivered Monday. I said no, it was for yesterday. He keep’s correcting me because his “system” says Monday. Why would I argue about something like this!??? Instead of saying ok we will get it out then right away and for the mistake on our end I will refund you a partial payment or here’s a voucher for next time. Nothing like that was said. He said I will refund you. I hung up mad, why? Because florists are in the business for occasions and to make that wish come true, if you don’t deliver on the occasion what was the purpose of order expensive flowers and you cannot deliver???
