Ace Nails — Local services in Hasbrouck Heights

I have been to this nail salon about 3 times and brought my mother and partner along with me. Today was my 4th time coming, and the experience was honestly really disappointing, not due to their skills but due to how my partner and I were treated by the owner who said her name is Joyce.

When I called to make the appointment, there was a lack of communication where we thought our appointment was for 4pm but she put us down for 3pm. We arrived 10 minutes before 4, thinking we're on time. She then receives us and says we're late but that she'll see what she can do. She tells my mom to sit in pedicure area, while she starts to do my manicure. My partner is still waiting for one of the other nail ladies to finish with their sitting customers. Once one of them is done, we ask if she can do his, at this point the owner starts to get upset and says that she doesn't know who can do his, so calmly, I said that I would've appreciated if she could've told us she couldn't do his nails so that way we could reschedule, she started getting aggravated and I didn't quite understand a lot of the things she said, but she even yelled at one of the nail ladies who was trying to speak to her about the situation.

I don't want to make this too long, but it came to a point that I was getting really frustrated but kept my cool because I was with my mom and partner and there were some white ladies that were looking at me weird so I didn't want to defend myself in a way that would make me look like the angry Latino guy, so I calmly asked her if I could just pay so my partner and I can head out, (my mom is still getting her pedicure), and as I'm paying I calmly say "I want to keep coming here because I like the service, but I would appreciate it if you can speak to customers more kindly" she then continues to speak to me out of character and tells me in a very rude tone that she already told me multiple times that we were supposed to be there at a certain time, and I agreed that we had miscommunication and on her end she's right for expecting us to be there at that time, but all I was asking was for her not to speak to us with rudeness or disrespect as we enjoy coming here and are paying for a service and are generous when we tip. After she spoke to me out of character, I told her that I wouldn't want to take my business elsewhere and she says "I don't care".

Long story short, my partner and I ended up coming to a different nail salon because it wasn't worth it to keep going back and forth with her. I also felt that if I kept trying to get my point across, she would become more angry and take it to another level, so we just left.. feel kinda proud cause I spoke to her with respect the whole time although I felt very disrespected.

The nail ladies that work there are amazing though, I think that's also why it got me more upset cause I'll miss doing my nails with them,...

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE.I NOW HAVE ATHLETES FOOT BC OF THIS PLACE. THERES NO WAY THE LADIES WORKING THERE ARE LICENSED. SUPER UNPROFESSIONAL— I got a gel manicure and pedicure. They literally didn’t do any sort of manicure the lady took off my old polish pushed my cuticles SO far back I bled and then just started painting them without doing anything else . Then- the pedicure was the same thing. They had me soak my feet and she took off the polish and then clipped of skin around my toes but kept hurting me and didn’t use any sort of pumice on the soles of my feet or anything. Then just started painting them. Now- when I left- within 3 hours the GEL polish started peeling off immediately. Which is literally unheard of. The polish is also fading to a really dark color in certain spots which also looks horrible. Now 6 days later the photo above is what my nails look like. I spent 120$ In this place that day. Ace nail salon is the best nail salon I have ever been too, and I have been to many. I have lived in Sussex, Morris, Somerset, and Glouster county, and this salon by far does the best job. My nails last for a long time and they come out beautiful every time. Everyone is so kind and inviting so you feel comfortable walking in. The nail techs are always laughing and having a great time which shows that this salon is a positive environment for everyone. These are just two designs that I have recently done and I have gotten so many compliments on my nails. The shape is always perfectly even and there’s never a bump or a bubble.
