First time trying this place and was pleasantly surprised. I was hesitant because of the bad reviews but my daughter & I wanted to give it a try for ourselves. We got a pint of chicken lo mein, a pint of beef & broccoli, order of cream cheese wontons and two egg rolls and the total was $26 bucks. I don't think the price was bad at all considering the portions were pretty decent. The lady who took order was very nice. The food was done quickly and very warm! Inside the restaurant is very cozy and nice. There was another family ahead of us getting a decent sized order. They do only accept cash but that wasn't a big deal for us. They have a coin plate for people who are short or if people wanna leave a penny for the next person. Now... the food. The egg rolls were on the larger side and pretty good. The cream cheese wontons were yummy. The beef and broccoli was good and saucy. The lo mein was very good, saucy, seasoned, only thing is chicken was little on the dry side but still seasoned well. Not sure why they have quite a few bad reviews because they were good, not the absolute best restaurant I've ever been to but they definitely were NOT the worst one I've been to. Not sure if people came on off days or over exaggerated. But I suggest trying for yourself and forming your own opinion. Overall we will eat...
Read moreI will not order from Fortune Cookie again - food keeps getting worse!
I just had Shrimp LoMein and Shrimp Fried Rice. The Shrimp LoMein had only 4 shrimp and was very bland tasting. I've had this same dish from a St. Paul Chinese restaurant that was amazing - this was not!
The biggest disappointment was the Shrimp Fried Rice. Usually my entire family loves this and even if other dishes aren't great, usually you can always count on the Fried Rice. Not this time! So dry and without any taste. There is no way that the Fried Rice I received was made on the day I purchased and I would doubt it was even made the day before! I've never had Shrimp Fried Rice before that used the small salad sized shrimp - had I of known this I wouldn't have ordered at all - I would have went with the Chicken Fried Rice instead.
I don't understand how a restaurant in a small town, that already inconveniences people to only pay with cash, can turn out food that tastes like this and still stay in business! I will try the other Chinese restaurant in town next time.
My husband and 15 year old son were also disappointed in the food / fried rice. Unfortunately I had purchased a family-size fried rice for around $7.00 and now I need to try and add something to it or my family...
Read moreI’m not sure it’s because I’m grew up in Farmington with 2 of the best Chinese restaurants in the state but this was the nastiest food I have ever ate. I like to consider myself a garbage disposal of food that can guzzle down anything but I just couldn’t eat the food I was served. There were bones and ligaments in my uncooked, leathery chicken. Egg roll was soft and mushy. Even the fortune cookie was stale. Only plus side is I now can say there is something in this world I cannot eat and that is their food. Do yourself a favor and go to mei wei or Chang’s in Farmington and...
