My husband and I came here on the last day of our honeymoon and had an incredible time getting "The Total Treatment" package. If you're looking for a big tacky overpriced spa this is not it- there is a warm cozy happy atmosphere here. The staff are amazing! They are ready to instantly adjust any treatment to how you want it and what you need. You can tell the employees love the work they do by the way they treat you. We added an extra half hour to our massages and they were reluctant to charge us more because they are focused on healing and didn't want to be associated with overpriced services. They provide a shower there where you can clean up and they have salon quality shampoo and conditioner provided.
For our massages they combined all the types to give my husband and I both perfect customized treatments that got rid of so many knots we had built up traveling and sleeping on hard hotel beds. I had Nikki, who during my body scrub noticed a tightness in my belly, I have Crohn's disease, and she immediately asked and adjusted the pressure there. She worked out the tightness in my shoulders from years of hunching over a computer. My husband is 6'4" and tiny little Ginger (surprisingly probably the strongest woman I've ever met) was incredible, she seemed tireless working out all the knots on him. At one point I looked over and she was using a bar on the ceiling to balance while she put all her weight into him.
We left feeling healthy body and soul. My only complaint is that they are located in Kona and not back home...
Read moreUPDATE: I still have pain from bruising between my shoulder blades after being worked on here two days ago. I expect to feel better not worse after a massage. I really wanted to have a great experience here. I was so disappointed after having read so many good reviews. Here is what didn't work: Ending my evening in pain. My back and shoulders are sore because of the pressure and perhaps the performance of an adjustment that moved 4 vertebrae in my thoracic spine. Being asked to have another therapist after booking with a specific person because they had scheduling issues. I was able to have the therapist with whom I booked. I felt badly insisting on having the person with whom I scheduled and they were the one everyone was raving about. Requesting less pressure a few times to finally receive a level that was not painful. Also, the therapist used quick strokes to perform the work. I'm accustomed to longer, slower movements and found myself tensing up in response to those fast movements. Being told that my session would end 15 minutes early so the practicioner could eat her lunch at 3:30 in the afternoon. I felt so badly for her. My bill was reduced accordingly. The place needs to be painted. The furnishings were tired and worn. While it appeared to be clean, some elements were not in working order. The practitioner was apologetic about the changes she requested or advised me about. A disappointing experience, I'm sad to say. I need a massage after having...
Read moreI will front load this review by saying the person who did my massage was very kind and very in tune with me and very caring. So, on a personal level the people who work here seem very sweet and attentive. However, there are some major things that give this place an over all down grade… Firstly, the whole space smells of rancid coconut oil. This same oil was rubbed all over my body and hair and I had to wash my hair 4x to get the smell out. I think some people might not notice this smell if they aren’t sensitive to it, but I work with oils frequently and know the smell well. Secondly, my treatments started late and ended early with no verbal communication about it. All together I probably lost 15 minutes of treatment time that I thought I was paying for. Definitely arrive early to fill out their paperwork as it says on the paperwork I was filling out, but not on any confirmation emails prior to arriving so I didn’t know this. Thirdly, my treatment was supposed to come with reflexology, but I didn’t receive that part of it. However, I will say the treatment I did receive felt nice although her hands were a bit shakey. Lastly, while I wasn’t being sold doterra oils, I really don’t like it when a place exclusively uses them as they are a super shadey company that is a MLM. So, if none of those things bother you then you will have a nice treatment here, but just things to keep in mind. And for me they are fairly big so thus I had to rate my overall...
