Listen, as a female I get treated, generally, like I don't know what I want or what I am talking about at the gun counters around here and most places honestly. My experience at almost all other retailers in town have been negative with them either straight ignoring me, talking down to me, smiling at their coworkers when they think I can't see them, speaking to my husband while Im speaking to them, ect. ITS UNREAL. As someone who buys one to two new guns minimum a year It gets really old and frustrating. A typical gun buying experience for me involved a LOT of anxiety and anger about how I was going to get treated and typically left other gun counters extremely upset and unsatisfied. I would shop with my husband to try and avoid being talked down to our completely ignored. When I went to the Helena Sportsmans gun counter The guys there where just a great group of experienced individuals who respect and valued me not only as a customer but as a person. I can go in there and they treat me like any other "guy" at the counter, EVERYTIME! We share stories, tips, and tricks. It's like buying a gun from an old friend and having good conversation while you do the paperwork (if they arn't too busy). They do not ever speak down to me or over me. When my husband is present they do not turn to him. They even engage and encourage my 10 year old daughter who had been hunting with me since she was 3. She loves the guys at the counter and is excited to take photos back to them of her WINS! I will not buy a gun from anywhere else. EVERY gun retailer should train and encourage their staff to treat women with respect. I highly recommend, as a women, the gun counter at Sportsmans Warehouse...
Read moreI called Sportsman’s Warehouse in Helena from my home in Anaconda. I was looking for a specific model Ruger rifle. I spoke to Dave working the gun counter. I gave him the make, caliber, and model number of the rifle I was looking for. He assured me he had the rifle I was after. I even asked him about the stock of the rifle, which made this Ruger rifle unique. I asked him to put a 24 hour hold on it and said I would be there at noon the following day to make the purchase. I called again the following morning before I made the 100 mile trip to Helena to make sure he had the rifle and that it was the correct rifle. He assured me he looked at the rifle and that he would be there to assist in the sale when I arrived at noon. I arrived at noon, shook Dave’s hand and thanked him for his help. He then went and got the rifle. Upon opening the box... SURPRISE! Not the rifle I was looking for. Not the model number I had specifically asked for. They didn’t even have the rifle in stock. The assistant manager was not so sympathetic to the situation even after I told him that I drove from Anaconda. So... I made a 200 mile round trip for nothing. Do not deal with this store. ...
Read moreI ordered a knife. First it showed up two days after I ordered it and I was never notified. So I called customer service line they said it was delivered a week earlier. Next I run to the store to check the lady at the front said she gave it to my wife. I leave and go talk to my wife and she said nope wasn't me. So I ask if it was there again an she said "well I gave it to someone maybe it was your mom. Just blame me I guess it's my fault." I made it home checked with all 4 people who have my last name. None of them picked it up. I called the customer service line again they said I had to ask for Melissa she is who received it at the store and I have to deal with the store for a refund or new one. I call to see if she was working and the same lady answers the phone and says " ha I don't think we have a person here by that name." Now I go to the store and they say the lady was wrong she didn't give it to a random person they delivered it to the wrong city that I need to call customer service back. Both sides basically are saying it's up to the other to fix. Bye bye money. I will be shopping at cabelas...
