Since Stater Brothers took over the old Vons this place has more pep in its step and class to boot. That might sound oxymoronic to those who have always seen Vons as a-cut-above kind of supermarket in comparison to Stater Brothers but that was then and this is now. Stater Brothers has come into its own as a down-home kind of Supermarket that hit the big time. It has its roots based right here in the Inland Empire though it has spread into Los Angeles and San Diego counties thus giving it a loftier status. I don't mean just based on its locations but because Stater Brothers is just a beautiful, clean and classy store that has everything you need and the meat department is unprecedented. It is the highest element of the store. The rest of the shopping center is clean and they have an apparently vigorous and efficient security team to keep out nuisance transients and panhandlers. This isn't to say that there is perfection because there's always going to be and negative elements. But between page Plaza and Village West Shopping Center these are probably two of the nicest in the entire Hemet Valley. It kind of gives you an experience of not being in Hemet if you know what I mean. Then that's not saying much but it is what it is. The Neighborhood Walmart in this shopping center is not as comprehensive as a Walmart Superstore, but it is so much more convenient, because it is smaller, still offers a remarkable variety of grocery and drugstore products. It features several self-serve check-outs, a neighborly deli counter, several bakery and floral products, and a fine, cordial prescriptions staff, as well as some clinical services (like flu shots) and a blood pressure self-check machine. The produce is always quite fresh, and all the grocery products seem to be at some of the best prices in town. While this store can get quite crowded at times, lines move quickly, with adequate staffing, and there is always enough handicapper or other parking. The motorized baskets make quick trips so much more convenient for handicappers, and the staff seems well-infomed, and eager to help. If anything seems to need revision here, it is the organization of the procedural system in the prescriptions department, and many of the toiletries, makeup, and fragrances are apparently not available without staff assistance, for security reasons.
