Hempstead City Park — Attraction in Hempstead

You can tell the city does not care for their parks. The baseball fields fence has holes; the baseball fields have mounds and mounds of ant hills. Weeds everywhere. They literally only take care of one baseball field. The bathrooms are locked on weekends and after 5 on weekdays. I understand they are trying to stop vandalism, but people are going to vandalize the park no matter what. But locking the bathroom, especially all weekend, makes it hard for parents to come and take their kids there to play. We went today and had to drive home just so my kids could use the bathroom. The city needs to do better at taking care of...

I love this park I live only 10 min. Away so its really nice my dog runs around and the employees don't care if I let him off leash neither do the parents at the park because my dog loves to go say hi to the kids and wants love from them and the park is nice and quite for a good walk and all the animal are friendly. And the water park is not the best but good for cooling down in the summer. And the bathrooms could use a good cleaning and water fountains...

Tucked away on the back streets of hempstead, tx, The City Park sets under a large mass of oak trees with several views of each field. If you have more than one child playing bring your chairs and position them between fields and its possible to watch each game.. a very clean park with a restroom restoration under way, concession stand at games, slides and play areas for children not playing., and a great place for socializing.....
