Losing a loved one is an incredibly hard journey, but our experience with Hendersonville Memory Gardens, Funeral Home & Cremation Center made this difficult time a bit easier to navigate. From our first interaction, it was clear that we made the right decision in entrusting them with our beloved grandfather's final arrangements.
Our Funeral Director, Randy, was nothing short of amazing. His ability to understand and anticipate our family's needs was truly remarkable. He communicated with my grandmother in a way that was both comforting and respectful, something that was deeply appreciated by all of us. Randy's attentiveness and adaptability were a constant source of support, helping to ease our burden in ways we couldn't have imagined. We will always appreciate Randy and what he has done for our family.
During the calling hours, Jim and Joe were exceptional. They not only directed our guests with efficiency and care but also maintained a pleasant attitude throughout, providing helpful information and making everyone feel like part of the family. Their presence added a layer of comfort and warmth to an otherwise somber occasion.
However, our experience was not without its challenges. We feel it's important to mention that Allan's approach could benefit from some refinement. His matter-of-fact tone often came across as harsh and lacked the empathy that we so greatly needed during this time. Additionally, there were instances where he forgot names and provided incorrect information, and provided us a different family’s information, which added unnecessary stress to our situation.
While our journey through grief was made easier by the compassion and professionalism of Randy, Jim, and Joe, we hope that feedback regarding Allan's interactions will be taken as an opportunity for growth. Overall, we are grateful to Hendersonville Memory Gardens, Funeral Home & Cremation Center for their service and would recommend them to anyone facing the loss of a loved one, with the hope that they continue to refine their approach to fully support all families...
Read moreInitially- Hendersonville Funeral Home and Memory Gardens was a beautiful place with wonderful memories available. My brother lost his wife due to colon cancer. He selected a place for her to rest under a tree and purchased 5 other plots around her. My Mother passed away in 2006 from a valiant battle with blood cancer, and we placed her in the Mausoleum and we have one other crypt where I will be placed when my time comes. A brother passed away suddenly in 2008, and Tom Bowers and his staff there at the funeral home were AMAZING and helped us every step of the way. When my Father passed away in 2011, I did some preplanning and we had already decided to place him in one of the plots that my brother had purchased all those years earlier. The plot- was 100% paid for. My Father was a 50+ year Veteran of the US Air Corps, the US Air Force, and lived out his latter years working as a Civilian Contractor at Fort Rucker, Alabama; Minot AFS, North Dakota; and lastly, and Fort Campbell, Kentucky. His headstone reflects his Veterans status, and was provided in part by the Veterans Administration. My Father had remarried after my Mother had passed away. Even though made certain decisions for his Estate while he was alive- his wife then had certain responsibilities after his death. Because of a small balance owed on his funeral, and since his wife signed the paperwork for his funeral- the Memory Gardens REFUSE to place my Dad's headstone. They also refuse to talk to me or my brother, or even TAKE ANY PAYMENT toward the balance of my Dad's funeral.
As such, after spending over $70,000 on funerals, crypts and burial plots over the years- my Father now rests in the UNMARKED GRAVE of a pauper, because of a balance at one time that was under $3,000.00.
The headstone is AT THE CEMETARY in the warehouse- the Memory Gardens simply won't place the marble slab that it sits on until my Dad's widow pays the balance of the service.
Shame on you, Hendersonville Memory Gardens! ...
Read moreMy Grandmother, Joyce Ann Craft, recently passed away and we had her services and interment here. Stephanie, Alan, J.T. and the rest of the staff were absolutely wonderful to work with; they were incredibly compassionate and understanding. They guided us through every decision and have been communicative with us since ensuring that we are handling everything well in the aftermath.
The facility is as comforting and inviting as the people who run it are. The furniture is cozy and the environment is clean and well maintained. The slideshow, canvas photo collage and tri-fold memory books were all beautiful. We were able to bring in our own decorations and artifacts to personalize and memorialize our "Granny". It made the visitation feel more intimate and was a great way for family to fondly remember her and who she was. I hesitated posting photos because they are so personal, but I wanted to share how Stephanie and the rest of the staff helped us make Granny's service the perfect representation of who she was.
On behalf of my entire family, thank you so very much to everyone at Hendersonville Memory Gardens and Funeral Home. You made what has been the most devastating and heartbreaking experience of our lives be a little easier to bear with your kindness and professionalism. We cannot recommend you enough....
