This is mostly a warning for the women and fathers because I believe in informed consent. Men are allowed to use the women's locker room if they claim to be women. I was bent over the sink when I heard a very obviously man's voice complimenting my workout pants. I spun around in shock to find a large man sitting in the corner, smiling at me. It's shocking how we women have to deal with creepy dudes outside the locker room and now the gym lets creepy dudes IN THE WOMEN'S LOCKER ROOM where women and girls are undressing, showering and using the toilet. This is so outrageous! I can't believe they allow this without informing us, putting us in situations we'd never consent to being in. Why even have a "women's" sign up there if you're going to change the definition of what a woman is and allow creepy men in there who just sit and watch? Do your female patrons know that the the gyms definition of a woman is anyone who claims to be one??? At least have the decency to put up a sign that tells women that men are allowed in there or that the definition of "woman" now includes men.
It's important to note that this man was doing nothing except sitting there. He wasn't getting dressed. He wasn't undressing. He wasn't gathering his belongings. He sat there as women and probably underage girls were in various stages of undress.
I immediately got my stuff, left and never went back. I initially thought I would just use the single-use bathroom but this breach of trust was too much for me and I no longer wanted to go to the same place where that creepy man was. I never wanted to see or be around him again. A man with women's eyeglasses on and medium length hair is still a man and he has no business in the women's locker room sitting and watching. Allowing this is absolutely reprehensible, condemnable and a complete violation of women's and girl's safety, privacy, dignity, modesty, and boundaries.
I did report the man to management but after straight up lying, evading, gaslighting, telling me that they cancelled his membership and kicked him out of the gym, management finally came clean and finally told me that the man was a woman and that he was allowed in there. I was dumbfounded at the lengths management went to try to make me okay with this situation to keep my contract on the books. Well, Juan gave me a refund after I refused to see this 6ft, stocky man as a woman. Fyi, this isn't the only gym in the area that allows men in the women's locker room as I left Crunch Fitness for the same reason. If there's a women's locker room, expect to see a man in there at any given time, doing whatever he wants to do.
Lastly, it's really sad that my reviews keep getting taken down. All women should have the right to know that men are allowed in their intimate spaces where men can watch women and girls undress with impunity, regardless of how they feel on this issue. Not everyone believes men can be women simply because they say they are or because they wear lipstick. Not everyone is comfortable with men hanging around in the women's locker room, especially the Muslim women who use the facilities. Put up a sign and inform EVERYONE that you allow men in the women's locker room so that women can make the choice as to whether or not they want to join or even go in that locker room! Fathers should also be told so they can can choose whether or not they want their daughters undressing in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have belonged to several gyms and health clubs, and this is by far one of the worst Iāve ever seen. Sure the facility and equipment are newer, but the clientele here is mostly trash. This is like a glorified Planet Fitness essentially. Crowded at all times of the day and night and infiltrated by immature children who hog all of the benches for them and their idiotic-looking buddies while desperately all needing a spot for 95 lbs. if you are patiently waiting for a bench or a squat rack during peak times, expect a rude and entitled 12 year old to cut in front of you without any consideration for people around them already waiting. A couple of annoying looking dudes will bring their tripods and record themselves for Internet attention, but they are delusional if they think anybody cares what theyāre doing at the gym given neither of them have any followers (nor hardly impressive physiques). There was even a long long long period of time where what appears to be a homeless patron was bringing in his pitbull to workout with him. Also seemingly for Instagram clout..so pathetic. The dog looked terrified from all the loud clunking noises from the children dropping 15 lb dumbbells aggressively and I often felt sorry for it.
I blame most of the above on poor management presence and engagement. The one and only time Iāve seen the manager walking around the facility was when his boss was there. Other than that they are hiding in their cubicles eating Chick fil A, socializing, and playing around on their phones. As several of the front desk staff are also annoying looking children who also hog equipment when they workout there in their free time (so unprofessional), it wouldnāt surprise me if they were allowing their friends to all tailgate in without paying for guest passes. This would be the only explanation for the unusual constant crowdedness. LA corporate should keep an eye on this club - thereās a lot of sketchy things going on here.
We will be putting in notice shortly to join a smaller but better 24 hour facility in the area that does not have any of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy family and I love this gym. The gym is spacious, clean, newer construction & equipment but most importantly the staff sets them apart. Specifically Juan! You can tell that heās the kind of manager that leads by example and strives to give the members the best experience possible. For example, my family and I have been going to the gym for about 1 year 4-5 per week, sometimes twice a day and weāve NEVER EVER seen him on his cell phone. Heās always speaking to a member, checking people in or doing work calls at the front desk. In 2022 itās almost impossible to not encounter people on their phone while they are working. Another example is that no information was kept from us when we signed up. Although it is the buyers responsibility, Juan encouraged us to read the fine print and only proceed if we were comfortable. Thirdly, when we signed up we informed them that the Kids Klub was our main reason for seeking out a gym (as we have a small home gym). After several months of going we received word that, not to their fault, the Kids Klub was closing due to profitability issues (not just Herndon but all locations except for 2 in va). Juan listened to my displeasure and immediately gave me the option to have our account prorated for the monthly Kids Klub fee or suspend my account entirely. I came back a few days later for my farewell workout. I was surprised by the good news that the employees had advocated for us parents and corporate had reconsidered and agreed to keep the Kids Klub open! If that isnāt excellent customer service I donāt know what is š¤ Yes sometimes during peak hours they gym is slightly busy, as most gyms are. Sometimes the bathroom needs freshening, but thatās also to be expected in these post covid times with a shortage of staff (although I must say that I see the cleaning crew busts their butts & never on their phones) Sign up to this gym you wonāt be disappointed. Fun fact: our kids love the Kids Klub staff so much weāve even hired a few for babysitting š photos of individuals posted...
