Western Carolina Brew & Wine — Restaurant in Highlands

Excellent beers! We stopped in to try one of their beers and ended up staying and having more! The owner and staff were very personable and it was a great experience all the way around. We go and try many breweries and in our experience, newer places need some time to get their brews on par but she is already there! We'll be back when we're in Highlands again, and we may come up just for the beer! By the way.. They don't serve food but there ARE local food choices available! It's a beer and wine place... Great place! Wife and I came with our young son, father in law and two 100lbs dogs. We were sitting outside and Amber came out and offered us to sit inside from the heat. Offered our dogs water and gave our son an ice cream sandwich. Had food delivered to us from the suggested food truck which was delicious. Had some live music going too. Visited on a Sunday afternoon with a group of women and had a great time sampling the selection of beers with the owner Eric. Eric and Amber are so fun and friendly, and are passionate about creating a sense of community at the brewery while supporting other local businesses. They are also family and dog friendly!
