Called on a Saturday evening and asked if they had twin beds in stock at their location. The "gentleman" I spoke with said they did indeed have beds in stock. I asked again to clarify: "So you have them there?" He said yes. The next day, I drove across town to check out their selection and likely pick up a new bed for my toddler. After making a selection, I asked: "So do you have more in the back or just the display model?" The twentysomething guy who was working replied: "Oh, we don't have them here. We order them from the warehouse. You could get one by Thursday." I looked at him and relayed the conversation I had had the night before. He looked at me incredulously and asked: "Are you sure you called this location?" I responded affirmatively and added that it was kind of misleading to say you have something in stock when it's not physically at your store. He then claimed (very snarkily and somewhat haughtily) that "in stock" was standard "industry lingo" and that the person I spoke with the night before would have said "in store" if they had the beds physically there. I thanked him for his time and drove home.
Bottom Line: Don't give these guys your business.
To my fellow consumers: I found a bed on Amazon with 5-star reviews of similar quality to Bedmart's middle-of-the-road twin (which was "on sale" for the low, low price of $299 - no free shipping for anything under $500 by the way) for only $199. It'll be here tomorrow (Tuesday). Imagine that.
To the Owner and/or Manager: I would likely have paid the $300 and taken your floor model home with me that night. I wanted a bed that night and yours was comfy. Instead of helping me and working with me however, your snarky salesman chose to insult my intelligence. As one employer to another, you might want to rectify that situation before you lose another sale. That guy is the reason brick-and-mortar...
Read moreBedMart on 185th in Hillsboro proved to be an honest, no pressure store that won our loyalty through their knowledgeable and personable approach to helping us choose the right bed. We'd visited five bed stores before going back to BedMart a second time and purchasing our adjustable bed. We've had our bed for 6 months now and love it! But that's not why I'm giving them 5 stars. I'm giving them a perfect score because when we had a problem getting brackets for a headboard, they went above and beyond to help us months after we'd purchased our bed. After learning that the manufacturer no longer made headboard brackets for our bed, they sent out their best technician who custom made brackets for our bed and did not charge anything extra. We only paid for the factory brackets that we should have been able to buy. Not only did their technician custom-make our brackets, he installed the headboard to ensure that it all went together perfectly, which it did. BedMart in Hillsboro is truly a customer oriented store that stands behind their sales with product support long after the...
