Update:
We bought the pass! And love getting to go there when it's WAY to cold too be outside to play.
And we have gone 3 times so far and love the rotating items on the tables that are so engaging! I love this place! ⢠Wow! What a great all-weather friendly place to take kids! (Because it's indoors!)
It took just a few minutes to book a reservation online and to fill out the consent form online - so easy!
We arrived right at our playtime slot (11am) and was immediately mesmerized by the space! So many cute rooms and play areas including shopping carts, a veterinary, stationary cars to drive and so much more! The train table - genius that nothing comes off! The mailboxes and wooden letters - adorable! The musical instruments - love! The whole place was just beyond amazing!
And with the cubby holes for stuff (shoes are required to be off) and the limited number of kids so it's not too busy/overcrowded is really great! Honestly, I wish I had found out about this place sooner!
We paid for a single-day use, but will absolutely be getting the pass! And love that two kids can come per kid! Grandma came to join us and that was so fun!
There's SO much for kids to do, we barely scratched the surface! And there were older kids there with items that better fit their development - the age range options are so well thought through and I bet so welcome to the families of multiple kids.
Snacks aren't allowed in the play space, but you get a snack included at the end of play! Such a great idea! Can't...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePlay Street Museum is a great spot for play during school holidays, inclement weather, hosting a playdate or birthday party in the West Portland area. PSM is a kid-sized place to have imaginitive and screenfree time for a couple hours. There are play spaces for kids on the younger toddler end as well as a small stem toy corner and there are add on services (making slime) if you want to pay for things a la carte. Plentiful and easy parking.
For the a time-strapped working parent trying to figure out birthday options, PSM is a great place to host a birthday party or playdate. You can comfortably fit a dozen kids and their parents and delegate all of the hassel of a kids birthday and clean up. With their help you pick a theme, pick a color and have a bevvy of kid friendly drinks and cupcakes to celebrate ready on your kid's special day. Outside food is allowed if you want to self-cater.
Private parties limit to 2 hour time so the only drawback is that if you are all having fun, you have to keep an eye on the clock to make room for the next guests on the weekend. Birthday party favors offered include a free future admission.
Highly recommend for kids from 2 - 6...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreReview for Private Party Event. I hate to have to give a negative review but it did not sit well with me my experience there.
We booked for a birthday party. The event space is great, the bad experience comes in how we felt being rushed out the whole time by the party attendant. Our party time is 11:30 am and ends at 1:00 pm.
At 12:45pm the attendant starts making us feel uncomfortable. To name a few items she starts doing 15 mins before the party is over: Starts cleaning and throwing stuff away Starts throwing away food while people are eating. Cake plates as soon as someone stands up and not guarding their cake she throws it away of peoples whole piece. Consolidates our food to the front while people are eating. I set up a corner to take a group pic, lady says "but you're going to leave right away after the picture right"
I could list more but you get the gist.
If we booked our party that ends at 1:00 pm than you clean after our party is over at 1:00 pm not during the party. You have a whole hour to set up the next party we didn't make or leave a giant mess.
If I am paying $400-$600 (plus tip) for 1.5 hours. I want my...
