I visited today, March 10, I came with a party of 4. When you sit at a table they have a QR code to scan to order. We scanned the code and while browsing one of the staff brought out wontons and said we ordered them. We had not and I told him this. He insisted we did and brought a receipt with my table number on it but we assured him that was not our order. While he was walking away he stopped at the table next to us and they said it was their order. Alright. No biggie. We ordered 3 plates of orange chicken, 1 beef noodle soup, and 1 plate of noodles. Immediately they brought out 1 beef noodle soup and 1 plate of sesame chicken. I told them that we had not ordered sesame chicken and they ONCE AGAIN insisted we did. I told them we absolutely did not and then they told me the sesame chicken was orange chicken. Irritated I told them okay and went back to their online menu and pulled up the picture that showed it was not orange chicken but sesame chicken. A waitress walked to the table next to us who had ordered the wontons at the start of our experience and asked them how their meal was and they proceeded to say THEY NEVER GOT THEIR SESAME CHICKEN THEY ORDERED. We politely acknowledged that we had once again received their order that the male server insisted was ours and was indeed orange chicken. She asked who said it was sesame chicken and we pointed at the server who said that and reminded her that we never received any plate of orange chicken. We told her since one of the kids ate the sesame chicken we would take that and just bring 2 plates of orange chicken and that would be fine. They brought two plates of orange chicken not too long after and brought the check to the table next to us and then they told them they would take the sesame chicken off and that they had made too much orange chicken and had an extra plate ( the plate my table ordered) they would give it to them for free for the inconvenience. This entire time they were rude and condescending to my table and insisted we take food that was not ours and pay for it. I absolutely love giving smaller lesser known places a try but this place is one I will not recommend. They are terrible and the food is not that great. I hope you offer more training to your servers in the future and can take this review and...
Read moreThis was my first time checking out Noodle Dynasty and I really didn't know what to expect. I am sure I'm just a bit old-fashioned, but I like to have an actual menu to look at, rather than a QR code. But I did appreciate that each menu item had a photograph so you know what they dishes look like. That being said, I ordered Shrimp Chow Mein with wide flat noodles. I asked if they had any shrimp dishes with those noodles and the server told me no. But then when I went to order the chow mein it gave me the option to choose which noodles I wanted it prepared with. So that was a pleasant surprise! The noodles themselves were a lovely texture. It's so hard to find wide noodles anywhere, grocery stores included. The shrimp in the photo are prawns, and it was served with much smaller shrimp, but it did feel like a lot of shrimp for the dish. Just don't expect large prawns. I have to say, the chow mein seemed incredibly sweet to me, more sweet than salty and savory. But I really don't eat sugar at all, so I know I'm more sensitive to it than others. But it was definitely too sweet for me to order it again, but I added some chili oil to help balance the sweetness and still ate it. I really liked the noodles themselves and wish there was a different shrimp dish served with them. I'm a vegetarian who eats seafood on rare occasion, so that was my only seafood noodle option on the menu. They do offer a vegetable chow mein and I saw one cold noodles in sesame oil dish. My boyfriend got the General Chow Chicken Stirred Noodle dish. He said it was amazing. He loved the sauce and the noodles. He said it did have some sweetness to it, but also spicy, so it was...
Read moreThis has to be one of the best regional Chinese spots I’ve ever experienced in the states. The Lanzhou style of food is so unique and well done. The noodles are all hand pulled in the back and broths they use are rich but still so clean.
I got the beef noodle soup both spicy and classic. Both had a depth of flavor that you just can’t find at most Gansu style places. It’s one of a kind. The noodles are meant to be long and have a nice bite and chew to them. Which if you’re not used to, I can see how that would be intimidating. But not worth giving them a terrible review on. It’s about as authentic to Gansu as you can get.
I noticed they got a lot of bad reviews regarding their customer service. It could be due to growing pains as they are staffing up and working on systems to improve customer experience. But overall the staff was extremely kind, our wait was short because it was on an off hour and the food came out so fast.
I hope this restaurant is able to scale up to the inevitable demand they will get because their food is one of a kind. I would say it’s worth the 45 minute wait that some folks are knocking them for. Hopefully they get to the point where the wait is no...
