The dinner was delicious. It was our 1st time here so we started small.
The ambiance is a little lacking. They went for very minimalist so the walls are very white with nothing to break it up. I tend to prefer warmer decor, but it was quiet .They did a job cutting out echoing from the tall ceilings which made it more relaxing. They put in a gray brick?wall on one side. So there is a colder side and slightly warmer side.
They do not rush you, I liked the pacing and lack of pressure. The host was great. Our wait person was good at checking in yet not interrupting.
Cocktails were excellent. They do a great job on their old fashioned. The Paloma was refreshing. Nice wine list. Fits a variety of price ranges. 30 and up. Lots of higher end options.
Dinner was excellent. We had the pork chops and stuffed chicken. Would definitely go back for dinner and or cocktails and appetizers.
They had several vegetarian options and they looked great especially the butternut squash ravioli, I might need to go back for that.
Dessert is beautiful but tastes like it has lived in refrigeration too long. The lemon cake with blueberry compote was dry and you could not taste the lemon. It was very cold. The other dessert bacona dolce. It was a first time order anywhere and so not sure if that was just don't like that dessert option or this one wasn't a good representation. We will not order desserts there again. And a little disappointing that when out wait person realized they were not to our liking they did an about face and disappeared never to be seen again.
This restraunt would be considered higher priced.
Overall nice restraunt. Higher end for hillsboro area and worth going to. It would be 3.5 stars for me. The lack of decor for me and this is a personal style thing was a little too sterile but I did like how quiet it was. I prefer a cozy place. The food was excellent. Perfectly cooked and beautiful presentation. Same with cocktails. Had desserts been good it would...
Read moreAmazing gem of a restaurant in historic downtown Hillsboro. A bit pricey (hence 4 ⭐) but otherwise perfect. Incredible food, great drinks, perfect service and fresh fun atmosphere. Update: Downgraded to 2 stars. Went in for Mother's Day today. That was a mistake. We got there at the time of our reservation, but then had to wait a half hour to be seated. Then it took over an hour and a half to get our food after ordering. The Prime Rib was very tough. It could hardly be cut even with a steak knife. We complained. They brought us another piece that was just as tough. The mushroom omelette had hardly any mushrooms in it. The potatoes served with the omelette tasted stale. The biscuits were hard and tasted old. The table we were sitting at wobbled massively. I had to ask twice to get cardboard to put under the leg to stabilize it. The avocado toast had no salt on it. We asked for salt and pepper, but that took 20 minutes for them to bring out. We were told when we left that Mother's Day is their busiest day of the year and the chef had called in sick this morning and the sou chef was trying to run the kitchen. This was nothing like our previous experience at this place. Hopefully it was a one-off experience. A disappointment for sure.
Update: Back up to 4 ⭐. They no longer have the restaurant. They use the facility as an event rental space only now with food and drinks sold during events. I was there for a jazz concert last night and it was a fabulous evening! The food was great and they had a large selection of drink options. Still a bit pricey, but all around it was a first class experience! Great job Venetian management and staff. I look forward to coming for more events...
Read moreI've never seen such beautiful ambiance which is was caught my eye before I ate there. During the holidays I was in that area and noticed beautiful decor and a snow machine as the Venetian Hillsboro was ramping up for their grand day debut. I decided not to get take out and wait until our governor gave us the okay. So that day came and three others joined me and what a treat it was. I pictured this place being in a huge city attracting movie stars and professional athletes like LA, New York and Scottsdale Arizona. We started with two appetizers the Curry Cauliflower and the Rogue Blue Wedge which had the most amazing Blue Cheese Dressing that was made in house. The food was amazing I had the Prime Filet Mignon which was cooked to my exact request. Another in my party had the same also cooked to perfection. Another in my party had the Sea Scallops & Pork Belly which had no complaints. Very nice sized scallops compared to other restaurants I've been to and perfectly seared. The last in our party had The Duck Confit which had great flavors. We definitely recommend the Jalapeños Margaritas and the Old "Vashioned" for cocktails. Coming out of covid-19 this year and a new restaurant hitting Hillsboro I wasn't expecting the best of the best with timely intervals between drinks, appetizers and main entrée but The Venetian Of Hillsboro pulled it off and they even give you a free "Mause Bouche" at the beginning. Thank you for bringing something great back to this city. We...
