A bit pricey on some higher end items, but there are deals to be had. They always have a decent selection of small kitchen appliances to be had for a bargain. Usually some mid-range audio components and speakers. But expect to pay close to or above the fair market value for all of these items. It seems most merchandise is tagged similarly. Appears they apply the tried and true method of searching for the item you are trying to sell on eBay, then search for recently sold prices of said item, and attach the highest priced sold item amount to your item with conviction. Problem is, sometimes two things that may look identical at a glance, are in fact quite different. In quality, condition and valuation. It's not an issue with everything in the store. But I think it'd be safe to say, it's close to half of the floor. Store is a bit tight with floor space. But that's usually part for the course with most all thrift stores. Items are visually aesthetic. The store and parking lot are always clean and tidy. Their lot is huge And there are always a plethora of spots, ample enough to accommodate doublewide vehicles and large trucks. I will say this about C & S, they honestly did have some truly exquisite furnishings available on a few of my visits, but the stickers were always just a bit out of my ballpark. They have some nice yellow tag sales here and there. But the majority of items price tags are set in stone. Great staff and plenty of helpful guys on the floor to assist customers and answer questions. This place has nicer items than most thrift shops. But the downside is, most items are too rich for my blood. Still worth a visit. Support local businesses. Happy my purchases help advance...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am writing this review because I totally love Care and Share. I started volunteering with Care and Share many years ago. Over the years, I have learned a lot about MCC and the mission of Care and Share. I believe with all my heart that Care and Share is a WIN for everyone involved! Donors, shoppers, volunteers/ staff and the recipients of their monetary donations. It is a convenient place to take your gently used items that you no longer want, the shoppes are clean and well organized, (I often feel like I am shopping in a department store but with much lower prices, it is a great place to volunteer and then knowing that they give all they can both locally and internationally is such a blessing. After reading some of the comments, I could feel a lot of frustration coming through. There were some valid points for sure, like the bathroom situation, which thankfully has been rectified, but as far as prices etc., after comparing them to other thrift stores, I think Care and Share is very competative and also amazing! People come from all over to shop here! Care and Share is not perfect for sure, but everyone works very hard to make your experience there a good one. If you are frustrated or have a complaint, take it first to a manager. Give them the opportunity to work through your situation. They really do care. I feel blessed to have a place like Care and Share in my neighborhood and feel fortunate to be part of this wonderful organization by volunteering! I recommend it to everyone! Come out and volunteer! It is good for the soul and good for our neighbors both...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy daughter and I go to thrift and antique stores to spend time together and find some unexpected treasures. We went to this Care and Share thrift shop which left a bad taste in our mouth. First of all, it is way too expensive for a thrift store. In fact, we found a vase that was $15 but the original store sticker said $9.99. We showed the manager and asked if we could get it for the store price.(at a thrift store, it should be lower than the store price) She just looked at us and said, āOh well, weāre not going to change any prices. Thatās the way it is.ā No apologies either. We also found two cute ceramic bowls, larger one was priced at $.99 and the smaller one was priced at $3.99. I went to purchase them and said the smaller bowl is probably priced wrong. The cashier said, āOh these are priced wrong but the bigger bowl is going to be more.ā She proceeds to pull the $.99 sticker off. I told her that youāre supposed to sell it for the price thatās tagged. She looked at me with an attitude and said, No, I donāt have to do that. Want me to call the manager? I said no and walked away. While I was leaving, the cashier said, Donāt you want to buy these bowls? My response was āAbsolutely not!ā While the store was clean and neat, there was only one worker that was kind and very nice to us. He actually heard how the manager responded to us regarding the vase, and apologized to us for her. DONāT GO HERE! There are many great thrift and antique shops in the area where there were great finds for us and awesome workers. This particular Care and Share thrift store was not a...
