First, I have never in my life posted a review online. Never. That's how angry I am about my visit.
Second, maybe I should have asked the price before I ordered it but I just didn't think it would be too crazy. I understand this is a beach town and there is an additional expense on top of what I would normally pay, but come on. $7.79 for a regular milkshake?? That is absolutely insane. I was too stunned to even back-out of the order.
Third, I was then told that on a $7.79 order there would be an additional fee for a credit card charge. No one asked me if that was okay. Just told me and ran the charge. An additional $.29 for the milkshake.
Last, I can forgive everything up to hear if the milkshake was done well. It isn't hard. But what I received was so subpar it still annoys me as I write this. It was only filled 3/4 of the way up the cup. It also was not a milkshake....it was creamy strawberry soft serve. Like a Wendy's frosty. 100% impossible to drink through a straw even after letting it sit for 20 mins. How can you possibly charge that price and give me something of so low quality?
I hate that I am writing this but there has to be some check on the quality of what a store provides when you charge so much for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy GPS was confusing to use in finding this place but Iām glad I persisted and located it. Hilton Head business signs are very āmutedā to not distract from the environment. No giant signs signaling āhere we areā. That saidā¦Hilton Head Ice Cream was fantastic! First the employees were all candidates for employee of the year. There were three and helpful, engaging but not overbearingā¦just great kids doing the best they could. There was an amazing selection of ice cream and sorbet. I asked if they had lemon custardā¦it was advertised but not displayed in the cases. The young man said ā wait a minute I think there might be a new carton in the freezerā. Off he goes while the two young ladies, my wife and I watch a baby raccoon scamper around the front door. I know nothing to do with ice cream but it was fun. The guy comes back with a fresh carton of lemon custard. I am a fan of lemon custard. Wild about Harryās in Dallas had Milwaukee style custard that was awesome. This was better. My wife had a strawberry sorbet that she said was delicious. We had a great dessert, met some very nice kids that worked there ( the place was spotless) and watched a baby raccoon. I hope your visit is as entertaining...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy fellow citizens,
Today, I stand before you not as a leader of a nation, but as a humbled man who has tasted greatness. That greatness bears a name: Nathanās Ice Cream.
From the moment I stepped into his establishment, I was greeted not just with smiles, but with a level of creamy diplomacy that could broker peace between nations. Nathan, the proprietor and chief artisan of this frozen fortress, has achieved what few in history have ā the unification of flavor, texture, and childhood wonder.
The cookies and cream? A bipartisan masterpiece. The strawberry swirl? A declaration of independence from mediocrity. And the salted caramel? A flavor so balanced it deserves its own seat at the United Nations.
But what truly distinguishes Nathanās parlor is not just the ice cream ā itās the leadership. He runs his shop with the poise of Washington, the heart of Lincoln, and the innovation of Roosevelt (Theodore, of course). His scoops are firm, his cones are crisp, and his service is swift ā truly a commander-in-chief of confections.
In conclusion, Nathan has not only earned my vote ā he has earned a lifetime executive order for second helpings.
God bless Nathan. And God bless the United...
