If you’re looking for petrified wood, rainbow rock shop is the place for you!
located right on Navajo Boulevard in downtown Holbrook just over the bridge going to Highway 40 the old man who owns the shop has accumulated piles, mountains of petrified wood of all sizes and types. It is a treasure hunt to go find the piece that speaks to you! So much fun!
A great experience for families with children, because the kids can look and find their own special piece of petrified wood and not break mom and dad‘s wallet! Tiny pieces can be pennies larger pieces could be hundreds of thousands of dollars (very large pieces). most of the inventory is in raw pieces that are unfinished, uncut, and unaltered.

Perhaps some day we'll return and one of the beautiful rocks will come...

What a sweet human being; what a special place to stop and share in someone’s lifetime memories. We are cold weather travelers to cut down on crowds; but still the best time to stop through all Indian territory shops, or the National Parks to catch the vendors with their wares. Covid and cold weather have really put a hurt to their survival. I’m always glad to help what I can and hope that I have along the way made their life better if only for the moment. Thank you Adam Luna/Moon and all the others we have met along the way that made our travels the best one could ever...
