Went for a walk with my kid, I decided to stop at strawberry acres park and check it out, everything was okay until I saw an old man that literally stopped when he saw us going same way as him, walked back a few steps, wait for us and then start walking behind while he was trying to talk and be “funny” with my child, all of a sudden he asked me if I could enter the women’s restroom and check if someone was inside to check the sink, I asked why and that he could just call maintenance or someone in charge at the park, he said he was in charge and people were complaining with him about the sink not working and wanted to make sure that maintenance fixed the sink….he insisted like 5 times for me to go into the restroom even I was saying no, It didn’t feel right and at the same time I didn’t want to judge and just be rude but it was too much so I grabbed my child, open the restroom’s door and stayed there where people could see us(never went inside to check anything, he waited there for me to go in and when he saw I wasn’t gonna do that he stepped in, open the sink and waited there, why not call maintenance to check if they did their job?…. He turned off the water, got out and went to the men’s restroom right across and as soon as we left he left as well and just disappear. Even my kid said that was creepy and we shouldn’t talk to strangers.

Read moreGreat pickleball courts, but use at your own risk. The older population of players that go there are the most rude type of people to engage with. We came twice in one week and we are very new at the game and do not know all of the rules and regulations. First instance was when we were playing multiple games and did not know the rules for who had the next game. The only person to come and say something was this rude old man that says “yOu KnOw ThErE aRe PeOpLe WaItInG tO PlAy.” Sorry we are new. The second instance we waited there with our paddles in the up next slot like everyone else but we had three players. We decided to play two half games to 5 which would equal to 10 and not be a full game that way the three of us could play. We get on a court and not even three points in, another rude old man comes and says the same thing “you know other people are trying to play” the same rude way as the other day. These people just got done playing too and the lady in their group were antagonizing us asking what the score was and how many games have we played. We are a younger group of new players and did not feel like the standards of the other players are held to a respectable manner. DO NOT GO TO THIS PARK FOR...
Read moreThis is a really nice little community park. It has a great circuitous walking path basically around the perimeter which is little more than half a mile long. The path is well-maintained in all seasons. My only complaint is that the village in which it's located (Holland, Ohio) decided to put in pickleball courts, eliminating the basketball courts which were highly popular among the young men in the area. The basketball courts afforded the boys who used to play there a nice wholesome activity within walking distance of their homes. The basketball courts were always busy, with teens queuing to use them in turn. I can't understand why they didn't double the number of basketball courts. There was plenty of land there to do that and to also build the pickleball courts. It seems that the village is more interested in catering to the older white man crowd, which makes sense because the village council is comprised of older white men. I guess pickleball is more their speed and concern for other sorts in the community is not...
