I typically have no problems and I do enjoy Grape Leafâs chicken gyros, but today (02/09/2021) around 6:30-7, I called ahead of time to order 6 chicken gyros with a large gyro sauce and I asked if I could have 2 empty side cups because 4 gyros were going one place and the other 2 were going somewhere else. I picked up my order, and while I was there, I checked to make sure they were chicken gyros because the girl had trouble hearing me over the phone, which the gyros were lamb instead of chicken, so I waited until it could get fixed for another 20-25 minutes. I drove all the way home, and since it was different bags , I wanted to make sure that the orders were right this time, as the lady said they were, and when I looked, ALL the boxes contained the same thing. In which it was the chicken slices with a side of gyro sauce, not one sandwich. I then had to go all the way back from where the old Southwyk mall used to be, back to Holland to get the sandwiches in which I ordered. That took between 5-15 minutes about, and the order was finally correct, so I proceeded to go home and eat my gyro sandwich. As I was eating, at about a quarter of the sandwich, I found a hair, which caused me to no longer be able to eat. I really did enjoy gyro sandwiches from this establishment, but after this, which was all too much, I donât believe I will ever return again. I left a $4-5 tip, for my meal(s) that I didnât even get to enjoy. I do not have the receipt, but my order was...
Read moreKaren and I had not been here for many years, but it was time for some truly fantastic Middle Eastern food. The quality of the food was even better than we remembered. We had totally forgotten about the enormity of the portions. We both ordered the beef mushroom sautĂŠ. The dinner started with a huge dinner salad (Karen) or fattoush (me) alongside a hefty basket of fried pita chips and fresh pita quarters. Then came the entrees, either of which was enough to serve two or three hungry diners. Each large platter was generously half filled with tender sautĂŠed beef and the juicy mushrooms they were cooked with. The other half of the platter was piled with delicious saffron flavored/colored rice topped with slivered almonds. Oh, yes, nestled between the rice and beef was a hefty dish of hummus. Good thing we passed on an appetizer. We left with a large grocery bag and four stuffed styrofoam containers, enough for another dinner and lunch for each of us. To my Toledo area pals: If you have not been to this homey place at Angola and McCord roads, you are missing a real treat. And if you donât like Middle Eastern food, there are some American choices too. I saw a platter of fish and chips that looked like...
Read moreHorrible service. I called in and ordered 2 gyros, fries and humus, a very basic order. The girl on the phone told me 20-25 minutes. I arrived promptly 20 minutes later and gave my name, the young kid at the counter told me they were "bagging it up now", just like he told the 2 people in front of me. I stood there and waited 20 minutes until one of the waitress asked me if I was helped, they scurried and had my order out in 3 minutes. I told her they might want to let people on the phone know that it was actually a 40-45 minute wait for pickup. She apologized and gave me my food, checked it and a sauce was missing so they got me one and she was sending me on my way..... But, I had not even paid for it yet..... I had to tell her I did not pay for it, if I was not honest I could have just walked out of the door with free food. I wanted to support a local restaurant and not have it delivered to help a small business on fees, but next time I might as well just get something delivered from somewhere else, it would probably be just as long as it is with Grape Leaf for a...
