Snorkel trip to turtle canyon yesterday. We were told verbatim “maintain arm’s length distance away from the turtles “. While taking pictures, arms extended together I was grabbed by a lifeguard from a different boat and told to maintain 6’ to 10’ feet distance from turtles. Teachable moment, being rudely jerked by the flotation device I was wearing I quoted our instructions as being arms length from turtles. I was close but clearly never touched nor was close enough to touch the surfacing turtle. The guard from the Lola then sided immediately with the rude guard and warned me verbally. You should change your instructions specifically to one minimum distance not a vague range which can be different for different people. Just say what the minimum distance is! 6’ 10’ I don’t care but be clear and then be more courteous to your guests. I am old overweight and hearing impaired. You don’t know what a person is dealing with so be kind, provide clear specific instructions and be discreet if you need to provide guidance to a guest. The rude guard has a need to exert authority using unnecessary physical contact and the Lola guard (one female, all others were extremely accountable) immediately assumed I was at fault based on verbal communication with the other person. If you want me to be further away than arms length then say it before we enter the water and be specific. This would help your business encourage guests to return and repeat as customers. Read moreI’m sorry, but our experience with This company wasn’t good. I’ve been on several sunset cruises in Honolulu, but never again with this company. I ordered a cruise through groupon for an ip coming visit in Waikik to see my daughter. Two days later I received a email from Groupon asking me to rate my experience with Ohua Boat Cruises. I wasn’t in HI yet and hadn't used me cruise. I called the main office at OBC several times and they said they had “redeemed” our tickets by mistake. I went through hell to get refunded by Groupon. I just finally weeks later have been refunded. I did purchase another cruise with OBC and we did go on that. The boat was late. After getting on the boat they announced that the bathroom wasn’t working. I thought great, what are we gonna do if we need to use the restroom?? The boat was so late that the driver had to go pretty fast in order to make sunset. We didn’t even stop and look for whales. There was no time, it was getting dark. Very disappointed in with this company. Seriously if your bathroom isn’t working and you’re selling drinks, don’t take that boat out until everything is in working order. And when you pay for a relaxing sunset cruise, make sure your boat is ready to go so there’s plenty of time to enjoy the cruise....
Read moreThis boat is also under Pink Sails. Make sure to read the comments under this name as well. The boat is a great time until the end. It’s all on the clock and a money trap. They don’t leave on time, but they surely kick you off on time. I paid for a drink and was immediately pressured off the boat as soon as they docked 10 minutes later. DJ- the owner- asked if I purchased the drink and said they didn’t have all day to wait for me to finish. Then he started saying that all the boats in the dock were great except for his. There were several people in attendance that worked for his company prior. Would never recommend. Oh, and I was also lectured about taking a photo on the boat. Very weird. Go on any other party boat except this one. Also, if you book a trip, make sure you confirm that your reservation is secured. I called and emailed on several occasions. They cancelled my reservation twice before accepting us....
