This is the sister restaurant of Cuu Long II in Chinatown and offers a different as well as unique menu of Vietnamese dishes. The setting is stylish and upbeat in a great location near the Ward Theaters. There is a full bar as well if you want to add cocktails to your meal, which is uncommon for most Vietnamese restaurants that usually don't have a liquor license and if they do, usually only offer beer.
We started with the Banana Blossom Salad which I absolutely loved! It was fresh and crisp, yet the finely shredded banana blossom added a great texture as well as subtle earthy taste to. It might not be the dish for everyone, but it was a winner for me and recommend it to try once.
Next we followed with the Vietnamese Steamed Rice Cakes. It was a perfect appetizer for two as it was served in 2 small dishes that were individually prepared. Another winner that I thoroughly enjoyed with light yet flavorful bites. My only dislike was that I thought the rice cake layer at the bottom was to thin and should have been a bit thicker.
For our main, we got the Bone Marrow and Eye Round Pho. We both thought the bone marrow wasn't that good and the pho broth was nothing special. It was bad, but it was great either. Their sister restaurant, Cuu Long II pho broth is outstanding, so I was a bit surprised in the difference.
All and all, it was a good experience. Their prices are not that bad considering the area. I would go again to try some of their other...

And on your menu, other pho prices are $17.50 and $11.95 so it was supposed to be at least bigger than your mall pho (they don't even update the increased price menu on their website). According to your reply, and since my stomach was not full(I'm a 5ft 100lb person who has a smaller stomach), you sold small portion but charged more than bigger size??
I knew this owner would reply like this subtly sounds polite but it rather blames as if it's customer's fault by reading other reviewer's replies. Throughout the years, similar complains on the reviews, they have not seemed to have will to improve their service than the ongoing issues. I figured why this restaurant is getting more empty walking by it everyday. Nothing special, waitress are not unkind but not kind either. Littlest portion of meat and veggies among other phos I've ever tried. There were only 3 tables taken around 5pm on Sunday, the service was too slow and not a word of thank or sorry for the delay. No merit. Why would I pay for this pricy...
Read moreI was so excited to find a Vietnamese restaurant in this area but lacks in some major aspects in my opinion. I’d like to come and try again though
First of all pho was good flavor wise but was missing the big dish of fresh vegetables you expect with pho. All veggies that I got was what’s in the picture with a very small, dry piece of lime (granted we were one of the last customers but still)… i need more bean sprouts!!
Second service was subpar; the guy who served us was so disengaged and quiet with no energy or smile, I felt like I was being a burden almost asking questions about the menu. Maybe he’s had a bad day but still..
Third it is very noisy inside - being a restaurant with modern vibe it has that concrete wall interior design with high ceilings, which mean no noise absorption whatsoever… You know the kind of nice, pretty, modern restaurant that is absolute noise chaos, where you can’t hear the person across you if a big group across the floor starts laughing? Yeah that… and this was when thr store was half full late at night, I can’t even imagine how loud during busy hours!
Anyway im still glad to have a place to grab a bowl of pho in the ward area, but hope it gets better especially...
