This snorkeling lesson & tour was amazing!

My father and I have never been snorkeling before, nor to Hanauma Bay before. I am really glad that we took this class with Nyle, for so many reasons!

(1) Skipping the Hanauma Bay entrance hassle. My sister also came with us to Hanauma Bay, but didn't want to go snorkeling. Her process to get in as a "normal" tourist sounded quite stressful, starting with the overwhelmed website with tickets disappearing faster than a K-Pop concert, and then a lot of waiting day of in hopes of getting in as early as possible (confusing prioritization between sign ups & walk ins as well), etc. In contrast, because this tour includes entrance for the time of the snorkeling lesson, we didn't have to worry about any of that! We got there on time for our lesson and could just continue promptly to the safety video and then down to the beach.

(2) The snorkeling itself! I had never gone before and was pretty nervous, but Nyle was a really confident and patient teacher. She supplied snorkeling gear (including defogging spray), flippers, and wearable floaties, which were a big comfort to me to start out with. (After a while she said to me that I looked like I would be okay to go without them, and when I took them off at that point I found that she was right -- so I'm grateful for the mental comfort that they provided in the beginning.) In our group of five, one of our number was less confident about swimming around by herself, and Nyle actually guided her around by hand for the entire tour. I was really impressed by her adaptability to our group, and how she was such an effective guide for ALL five of us. She is so nice, she explained everything so well (how to breathe, how to go from floating to standing on the sand in the flippers, etc.), and I just had an AMAZING time. The fish were so big, so colorful, so numerous, and so close (like pigeons! haha).

(3) After our lesson (I had signed up for the early morning slot; the tides were less strong, which made our morning more peaceful), she told us that she happened to not have a full class for her next lesson, and welcomed us to keep using some of her gear for a little while longer if we wanted to. I was really happy to keep snorkeling a little longer, and really appreciated...

After our adventure, Nyle went above and beyond, giving us recommendations for local eateries and attractions to round out our Hawaiian experience. This personalized touch demonstrated a level of hospitality and care that is rare to find.

We recently went on the Pure Aloha Adventures, Oahu Catamaran Snorkeling Tour off the coast of Oahu, and it was easily one of the highlights on island. If you’re looking for a relaxed, authentic, and safe way to snorkel with sea turtles, this is the tour to book.

🛥️ The Oahu Catamaran: The boat was clean, spacious, and not overcrowded like some of the big commercial tours. It had a friendly, laid-back crew with great music and a knowledgeable, fun-loving crew with two adorable dogs. They made sure everyone was comfortable and knew what to expect before we even got in the water. The cruise along the Waikiki coastline was absolutely stunning.

🐢 Snorkeling with Turtles: The snorkeling spot was excellent with relatively calm waters with decent visibility. Within minutes of getting into the water, I saw multiple fish and two Hawaiian green sea turtles gliding gracefully through the ocean water. The guides were great about pointing out marine life and making sure everyone stayed respectful of the turtles and the environment.

🛟 Safety & Support: Whether you’re a strong swimmer or a little nervous, they had flotation devices, snorkel gear, and patient instructors ready to assist. The vibe was totally supportive and non-intimidating, even for first-timers.

🌈 Overall Experience: The small group size, personal attention, and genuine aloha spirit set this tour apart. It felt less like a tourist excursion and more like spending the day with local friends who truly love and respect the ocean.
