After going back and forth around me when someone got caught or caught a fish, he actually told me to stay on the side so I don't get caught in his lines. There were 17 of us, 3 children not fishing, and he had 3 lines. I had to remind him that I was paying for the trip, he just looked at me appalled that I said something. Many caught pink tails which are inedible and tossed in. About 6 fish were caught and said male deckhand butchered fish while filleting. We went to 4 sites kept moving so fishing time was decreased. Make deckhand was cutting up the squid when we were boarding and kept the heads for himself and gave us the bodies which also took longer to hook and fish stole easily. Cups of squid were tossed overboard early so fishing could end. Spoke with the captain and he said he'd speak with the male deckhand and said hard to get help and many think it's their fishing trip. At almost $100/person you'd be subsidizing the deckhand's fishing trip and/or going for a boat ride. Rods are cheap and in bad condition per other reviews. The only reason this review is three out of five stars is because of the pricing issue I had. I originally set the fishing trip for three people. The day before, about mid day, I called and left a message stating that my sister-in-law was sick and wasn’t gonna be able to make it. They still charged me for three people on the boat even though I brought that up. Still have not received a phone call back. The website says 24 hours in advance, I feel like I didn’t cancel I just changed my reservation and I shouldn’t be charged the extra money. Excellent experience overall. The deckhand was awesome, she was very attentive and had us back in the water within a minute of us getting hung up. Lots of space on the boat for walking around and landing fish. Rod holders all the way around as well as the bait holders. Absolutely the best experiende in waikiki, just the fact of this being budget friendly and the views you get to see this is the best. Maybe there is people that think that on this trip you are going to catch monsters but come on if you call yourself a fisherman you will know that any charter taking you for big fish is going to charge big bucks too. This is a really nice experience and you get to catch nice tropical fish right infront of diamond head, for people like me that had never seen water like in hawaii this is your chance to go out there be on a boat get a great view of waikiki and take videos and pictures for your trip.
