Been on a quest to try every lobster roll and a friend suggested Fat Cheeks. They're my latest stop on lobster roll crawls. Really nice staff, friendly and pretty quick service. I like the simple but not bad variety menu too. For $15, not bad at all. I also tried the 12oz clam chowder for $7. Both had great value and didn't mince on substance and you could see, taste the value. Clam chowder was a nice surprise with a hearty presentation of classic and potatoes in a nice sized bowl - with croutons. In all, both a pretty good overall value for the price. If I had one recommendation, it's to add a little fluff inside the lobster roll - I ordered buttered - which tasted great. I just think that a little slaw or something of their own touch, would put them over the top and give it more substance and perceived value, added taste. Just a humble suggestion. Bun was simple, straight forward, and nice compliment as well. Not hard at all. Great job Fat Cheeks! Will be back to try something else. And that's the...
Read moreThis was my first time dining with fast cheeks and it was amazing! I went there on a Monday to get away from hotel high price food that’s not all that great but they are closed on Mondays. I returned on Wednesday to give it a try. I’m so glad I did. I had a burger and it’s not just a burger, it’s an aloha hallelujah experience! I’m a burgerologist and have had burgers all over the USA. This burger is in my top two and possibly a first place winner thus far! If you don’t like mayonnaise don’t be concerned with their special house sauce. Though I believe it has some mayo infused in the sauce you don’t have a tru mayo flavor so go far it! I say that because I despise mayo and I’m glad I got their special sauce. You won’t be disappointed. Oh my cousin had the cheeseburger with lobster 🦞 and she loved it. The fries are fresh fresh fresh!!! If I ever come back to Hawaii, I will make sure to...
Read moreI’ll start by saying I have not had the gold standard of Maine lobster rolls. But I grew up in the PNW eating fresh shell fish of all kinds. This buttered lobster roll was delicious. It had a heaping amount of juicy lobster. The bun was toasted and held up well against the amount of butter. Wasn’t soggy. (I’d eat it right away though… might not be fabulous for take out.) You order at the inside window and then pick up and eat at the picnic tables on the patio. You can see it when you first turn into ward center. Right next to Rodger Dunn golf store. Food came out in less than 10 minutes. The staff was happy and friendly. After I finished eating, one of the girls asked how everything was and was genuinely happy to see that we enjoyed it. Worth the $20 for the roll. Especially considering this is Honolulu and the amount of lobster that...
