Brimstone Boulders — Attraction in Hood River

This place has become a regular hang for me. The crew did a great job of maintaining the essence of the sanctuary while transforming it into an inspiring and challenging venue. The variety and changeover of problems to solve feels natural. The individuals that work there are knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The folks that gather there are friendly faces with a wide range of experience.

They also host outdoor trips. I recently went to an outdoor bouldering clinic where they provided gear and transportation to a gem near my home that I was clueless about. The instructor was very supportive of all the participants and gave lots of emphasis to safety. It was a fantastic experience to have a coach that could see where my capabilities were and to seek out challenges for me to face.

Stepping into Brimstone Boulders is like entering a mythic dimension where stained glass meets slopers, and ancient light filters down on your beta. The vibe? Ethereal. The climbs? Straight poetry. I found myself drawn to the delicate, crimpy V5s—subtle, smart, a bit mischievous—and they held me in riddle after riddle until I cracked each one open like a spell.

The route setting is deeply intuitive—dreamy shapes, playful sequences, and just enough weirdness to keep your soul awake. It’s not just physical, it’s alchemical. I left feeling like I’d been rearranged on the inside, like the holds had something to teach me.

I don't think stars are enough to describe the experience i had , the uniqueness of the gym (church) , or the welcoming community with in it.

This gym is incredible. I found myself In awe while walking around and see what they had to offer. This gym uses the space it has very well. From a good warm up area, too a great fitness area, and many different walls and angles for climbing.

The setting was amazing with really cool well though out problems with great movement, and many different holds. (From one setter to another you guys are nailing it. Big props)
