If you’re ever in Hood River and looking for a cozy, welcoming spot for lunch, look no further than this absolute gem of a restaurant. Tucked into the charming downtown, this place has everything you’d want in a laid-back, feel-good dining experience: warm ambiance, friendly staff, and most importantly—incredible food. We stopped in for lunch on a whim, and honestly, we couldn’t have made a better choice. The moment we walked in, we were greeted with a relaxed, homey vibe—wooden tables, soft lighting, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to stay a while. The staff was super friendly, making us feel right at home without being overbearing. Now, let’s talk about the pizza—because WOW. We ordered the margarita and sausage pizza, and it was nothing short of amazing. The crust was that perfect balance of crispy and chewy, with just the right amount of char from the oven. The margarita pizza had a fresh, vibrant tomato sauce, gooey mozzarella, and just the right touch of basil to give it that classic Italian flavor. The sausage pizza? Next level. The sausage was flavorful and slightly spicy, pairing beautifully with the melty cheese and rich sauce. Every bite was packed with flavor, and before we knew it, the whole thing was gone. But what really made this lunch unforgettable was the guy with the crazy hat. We ended up playing a game with him—totally unexpected but so much fun. He had this wild, colorful hat that looked like something out of a fantasy novel, and he was just radiating good vibes. It’s not every day you get to enjoy incredible pizza while sharing laughs with a total stranger in an epic hat. Honestly, this place is a must-visit if you’re in Hood River. Whether you’re craving a fantastic pizza, looking for a cozy spot to relax, or just hoping for a fun, unexpected experience, you’ll find it here. Five stars, no question—can’t wait...
Read moreI’m sure you have to deal with a lot of tourists here, and I’m sure they’re not all great, but Hood River isn’t going to be able to support all these restaurants on its own, so put up with it or get out of the business. There’s this attitude at most of the restaurants in Hood River that just says “you’re not welcome here,” and this place is no different.
There was a 15 minute wait with a restaurant that wasn’t half full. I’d like to believe they were understaffed, but based on our time here, I think it might be them trying to act like they’re busy. So, we waited at the bar, and the bartender was just fine. The attitude came from everywhere else - host, food runners, and especially our server.
The food was fine, but not great. My pizza was average, one sandwich was bland, and another was oddly small (like half the size of the other two).
Our server couldn’t have cared less about us. She had a weird attitude from the beginning. She got an order wrong. What sealed it for us was the bill. They didn’t give enough pita bread to go with a dip (we weren’t even given the option between chips and pita like was on the menu), and she noticed we had dip left with no pita left. She asked if we wanted more, and we said yes. We ended up with more, very stale pita bread after quite a wait and after our food came out. She didn’t say “do you want to order more,” she just asked if we’d like more, and we were charged $1.50 for it. She also added on a beer we didn’t order to the tab, and when we pointed it out, she just found it interesting and told us she’d have to find where it went instead of saying sorry.
I hated this experience from beginning to end, and have no...

A presence in both the community and industry, @doublemountain pays homage and is deeply rooted in the Hoodriver Craft Beer lore. It's founders met whilst brewing at @fullsailbrewing, another staple in the Hood River Brewing community.
We first heard of @doublemountain when we came upon the @hoodriverhopsfest event. They were a major player in the events beginnings as well as its continuance.
The building itself is unassuming. Walking up you see wooden booths (remnants of covid that the neighborhood hopes to keep) and modest strip mall style storefront.
Their innards are a bit modest looking ,at first. You're greeted with a slim tap area and bartop style seating. If you find a reason to round the corner, you'll realize the dining area is an impressively expensive bierhall with a plethora of seating and accompanying TV's.
We opted to sit outside as we were hoping to prolong the summer. Whilst fairly slim their booths offered a comfortable space.
Our Beers:
Amarillo By Morning- Fresh Hop Ale ●Clear colored, Crisp Tasting ●Fresh Hop Notes. Hints of peeled lemon and grapefruit with a tropical twist at the finish.
Vaporizer-Fresh Hop Pale Ale ●Clear Colored, Crisp/Dry Taste ●Fresh Hops w/ Light Lemon
They have both a quality and expansive food menu. We ate the TCB (Turkey Bacon Cheddar) and The Jersey. They were clutch after a long day. Both filling and tasty.
We thoroughly appreciate their message, beer, and the fact that they take part their in the community.
This is a kid friendly and Dog friendly establishment.
