We just returned from a weekend stay at this new hotel. It looks beautiful and has lots of potential. We initially booked because of the spa but were then told it wouldn’t be open yet. We were offered a 10% discount for our room which I did not see reflected in my statement. We were told the room was pet friendly so we brought our dog along. The ads say to expect a dog welcome package upon checkin including treats, dog bed and bags. None of them were there when we arrived. They did bring up a dog bed on request and we were told the rest of the welcome package would arrive in the morning, but it never did. There really isn’t a great spot to take your dog out to do their business either. We found a patch of grass across the street at the railroad station, but prior to that the front desk person didn’t seem to realize having a place for dogs to go would be a need. We were disappointed to not have a fridge in our room since they left us champagne for our anniversary. It was in an ice bath but the ice had long since melted before we got there. They were able to store some of our leftovers in “the back” but wherever that was ended up being a freezer because we received our bags back with our food frozen solid. No microwave to heat anything and no in room coffee were also disappointments. The bed was very comfortable. The thermostat took some work to get going, but we accidentally figured it out. The room was very warm and stuffy without it. We enjoyed the tv to watch football. We were disappointed that our room was never serviced after the first night. And there was what sounded like a phone vibrating in the wall behind our bed. I was grateful for the supplied earplugs. We didn’t get a chance to use the bar, but everyone seemed to be having a good time. The fire alarm went off and we evacuated the building only to watch the people in the bar cheering every time it would start and then stop again while we stood out in the cold. I do think this place has a lot of potential but it sure doesn’t seem like the right hand knew what the left...

Just stayed at lightwell and while not everything was great, it has potential to be.
Good Bar and bartender was great. Drinks were well made and priced well. Room was upgraded to suite and the room was nice. Bed comfortable and the shower was great. -Location the breakfast place across the street had great breakfast and coffee.
Negative -Concierge - reached out prior to stay for a bottle of red wine in the room for my wife and while confirmed, never received. Also reached out the next morning for cream for coffee and was told they were too new and to call back later.
Mini store doesn't have good choices for drinks and snacks to take back to the room.
Lastly, Fire alarm went off during the night for way too long. What made it worse is no direction to guests...
Read moreI want to start by saying this hotel looks incredible. The bar staff was fantastic and the location is great. To the rooms...TINY, like not even a place to set your luggage. HOT, in the rooms...unbearably warm and they have the thermostat locked so you cant adjust the temp. It was 72 in our room all night, with the windows opened the four inches it will open. LOUD, I get that its an old building, but it is very loud, all night. Good luck getting a good night sleep here between the hot-box rooms and the noise. Hopefully the owners/management see this can can make some adjustments, as I know its newly opened. Having the thermostats locked...
