Good food and friendly service.
I live in the Hood River Valley and have seen this place being developed over the last few months. The area could use a good chicken restaurant, I thought. It ended up being slightly different than what I expected but I find myself impressed nonetheless. When I heard that it had opened I was keen on stopping by.
It is a 24 hour convenience store and has a deli that sells Champs Chicken. I saw some other items than chicken in their deli case like jalapeno poppers and mozzarella sticks as well. I came mainly for the chicken but my wife and I looked around the store and ended up getting a few things for us and our kids. The wide selection of merchandise looked interesting and I intend to give it a further look on a later visit.
I was impressed by the courtesy of the employees here. As my wife and I were considering what to get from their deli they offered us a couple of chicken nuggets and a chicken tender free of charge. They were obviously freshly made and quite good. Tender chicken and nicely seasoned. We ended up getting chicken tender baskets for our kids, a chicken bowl, and a chicken sandwich basket. All of them were quite good and everyone at home was happy. The sides that came with the chicken were good too. The mashed potatoes had a nice peppery bite and some garlic too. My only minor critique is the mac and cheese is a bit runny and could stand to be a bit thicker. There isnt any seating in the store but there is an area on the other side of the parking lot with artificial grass that looks like it could be set up soon to offer that.
Anyway, I was impressed and fully intend to return again. I would definitely...
Read moreWork night shift at the hospital around the corner. Getting off , I stopped at this store. 4am I was the only in the store and maybe 5 mins in , the cashier (young guy) start walking around . I didn’t think anything of it until it started to feel like he was watching me. I felt like I was in my head so I proceed looking for items . Everything to me is over priced, so I just ended up getting coffee and put my wine cooler down in a different place. I go to the counter to check out he asked me if that was everything and ask me about the wine cooler. I told him I put it back, but he didn’t believe me and asked me where. I pointed to the area but he seems suspicious so as he’s checking me out, he continues to ask about it so told him I would show him where I put it back once he cashed me out. I showed him and he takes to me elsewhere mentioning that there’s another one missing. I told him I don’t know about the missing one. He still didn’t believe me and wanted me to open my purse. He was then satisfied and let me go. No apology or anything . Hassling me over a $3 item.I left very angry sitting in my car. But I was very disturbed by the experience so I went in and asked for his name. He refused to give me his name. Knowing that...
Read moreNo bathroom. Is that even legal? Most businesses like that are required to have one. Further, came in around 4AM, told the cashier I was willing to buy something if I could use their bathroom. He acted like he didn't know what I was saying when I asked where the restroom and then bathroom was, RUDE, VERY RUDE, and then when I asked if there were any other 24/7 places in town with a bathroom he said no. There's a freaking 24/7 Shell that has a bathroom. How rude, lost me as a customer permanently for this. Seems from other reviews this man...
