It’s sad seeing this mall go the way of most retail brick and mortars. The mall itself has a GREAT location, and plenty of parking, but that’s because most of the anchor stores are LONG GONE. JC Penny which anchored the south became a Burlington Coat Factory but has been vacant now the past 2 years. Palais Royale is now 3.6.5, and the Picadilly Cafeteria which was a neighborhood favorite is also gone. The lone anchor store now is Macy’s, former Foley’s, and it’s hanging on by a hair. Almost all the stores inside have become flea market type mom and pops with the exceptions of the shoe stores which are the main reason to go there now. The food court has pretty much stayed the same and is another reason to stop in if you’re in the neighborhood. I’m giving the place a 5 star rating mainly because, outside of retails stores dying, the mall has CONSISTENTLY remained a clean and well kept neighborhood mall. I hope the management and ownership there can bring new life to the venue, or at the very least do what Gulfgate Mall did over 20 years ago and tear down and rebuild something that will revitalize it once again. I have a very soft spot in my heart for this place and always...

Parking lot nightmare! No custodian to watch. Some poor driver backed up and scratched my wheel well on my pickup bad. They probably did not have any insurance because the majority of visitors here are poor and unemployed. Consequences will happen to you for hoping you'll get a job fast here. They work hard at pushing you off to other services; in other available Houston social services, across the city, if you agree to it. You will spend many wasted days, your vehicle wear and lots of gas on your own dime, if you follow the guidance of these ego driven people that work here. They love to pat themselves on the back if they get you into someone else's social program, which Houston has very many. Do yourself a favor and go to the Texas City office. They try harder and are sincere, by not wasting your time so much, especially if you are a...

"Toyz store" located at 555 Almeda Mall, suite 712 has the worst service ever they sold me defective light up shoes paid $65.00 for the shoes and they stopped working in three days the policy of the store says if defective toy within the 7 days of receipt in original box bring back for exchange, well we did we only had the shoes for 3 days and the guy there gave us hell! he said No Refunds, Exchanges and that No warranty for the Item. We explained that the item stopped working after the three days that my daughter was able to use them only once. when taken the item back they told us we had to pay for repair because the item needed repair, this is a Lie the shoe was defective and they just wanted more money. We are Unhappy customers and will spread the word out to our friends and family as everyone wanted to buy these shoes. DO NOT BUY FROM...

I like this mall. It isn’t perfect, but from someone who grew up at Baybrook, and was told this was the ‘run-down’ mall, I really enjoyed this one. The early-70s styling sort of shows through, but not much. Also, for whatever reason, you can find heaps of photos from pretty much every decade it has been open. Now, in terms of actually shopping, the stores are not as nice as Baybrook, but are perfectly reasonable. Also, they have a store that still sells some retro video games, unlike the other mall. So, I would recommend going here, as I also recommend looking into the easily available history of this mall.

I remember when this mall used to be nice about 30 years ago. Now it's like a pit stop until you can get to the real mall. If you need a pair of tennis shoes from Foot Locker or a Polo shirt from Macy's it's okay for that only! There is no escalator in Macy's to go up to the next level where there's furniture and other items. Nope, you just stay flat in one large area and look for everything. Bottom line it's time for a make over.

The Almeda mall is fairly run down. The parking lot has a bunch of potholes and is in disrepair. Many of the businesses have closed down or are in the process of closing down. The mall is rundown and really not very nice. Even though the appearance, there were quite a few people in the mall. Plus a very large Yugio tournament happening(I’ve never seen a tournament like this before). We would find another newer mall next time.
