It’s sad seeing this mall go the way of most retail brick and mortars. The mall itself has a GREAT location, and plenty of parking, but that’s because most of the anchor stores are LONG GONE. JC Penny which anchored the south became a Burlington Coat Factory but has been vacant now the past 2 years. Palais Royale is now 3.6.5, and the Picadilly Cafeteria which was a neighborhood favorite is also gone. The lone anchor store now is Macy’s, former Foley’s, and it’s hanging on by a hair. Almost all the stores inside have become flea market type mom and pops with the exceptions of the shoe stores which are the main reason to go there now. The food court has pretty much stayed the same and is another reason to stop in if you’re in the neighborhood. I’m giving the place a 5 star rating mainly because, outside of retails stores dying, the mall has CONSISTENTLY remained a clean and well kept neighborhood mall. I hope the management and ownership there can bring new life to the venue, or at the very least do what Gulfgate Mall did over 20 years ago and tear down and rebuild something that will revitalize it once again. I have a very soft spot in my heart for this place and always...
Read moreParking lot nightmare! No custodian to watch. Some poor driver backed up and scratched my wheel well on my pickup bad. They probably did not have any insurance because the majority of visitors here are poor and unemployed. Consequences will happen to you for hoping you'll get a job fast here. They love to pat themselves on the back if they get you into someone else's social program, which Houston has very many. Do yourself a favor and go to the Texas City office. They try harder and are sincere, by not wasting your time so much, especially if you are a...
