We love to go to farmers markets for the foods. We tried some Argentinian empanadas. The chicken one was two stars, chewy and a little dry, the beef one was tender and full of flavor....4 stars, if we'd visited earlier in the day they may have been better. We enjoyed an awesome iced coffee drink from DV8 Coffee, picked up a bag of whole beans....Mexico microlot Heredia....took them home, ground some and they were very tasty. My wife and I plan a speedy return, they're here every Saturday.

This was our first visit to this new location on Bellaire and the second week it's been here. There was a good vendor turnout. We scored some very good fatty end brisket and some tasty tater salad. Lots of bakers represented....hoping someone will start selling more keto 'cause don't like us. We picked up a couple fully loaded cookies from Blu Doodle home bakery, one peanut butter and one chocolate chip....very very good. Tons of other goodies from a coffee bean roaster...DV8, to pet goodies, even a caricaturist, Leonard's Art.

The new location is a church parking lot so they may not fall victim to developers like almost all their previous locations. We went today and they had a great customer turnout and a lot of the same great venders. I love baked goods and they have a plethora of that, not any keto versions.....if enough people ask maybe they'll provide this as an option. We scored some tasty pork tamales which had a great meat to masa ratio....not keto but I get to pick and choose what I fall off the wagon for. We had a good time and we'll back for more goodies.

We picked up some brisket and a rack of ribs from The Smoke/Uncle Reggie's...4 stars. Not much bark on the brisket and the pork ribs were tender but slightly undercooked. We also scored some pork tamales from Momma's Tamales, also 4 stars, great taste but the meat to masa ratio was skewed towards masa.

Lindy's Lunchbox and DV8 Coffee review...Lindy's had some keto desserts, I selected and enjoyed a piece of keto cheesecake covered with blueberries....very tasty...my copilot agreed. DV8 sold us some great coffee beans, 2 different roasts of Mexican beans...they have a deal where if you buy 2 bags of beans you get a...

When you go to a farmer's Market? I expect to see lots of food and fresh vegetable vendors that are not extremely overpriced. Nor do I expect to see as much or more vendors with weird items or gadget items that are not even close to food related. Think there were maybe 10 vendors in total. Food was definitely overpriced for hot food or cold drinks. We came there sweating and the cheapest drink was an 8 dollar lemonade. Highly disappointed. Thank God for places like "Trader's Village" in Houston though. Where I come from when you see "Farmers Market you think all right going to be lots of comparatively priced fruits and veggies vendors (at least 10-15 NOT 4-5) making it worth getting out of your car to peruse. This was NOT the case and my review stands as stated.

PS- The owner (response below) asks what I mean about gadget items just look at the pictures already posted under this places reviews and these were posted prior to us ever going there! The Grinch wall boards, soaps and other gadget type items like what you see in...

Nice neighborhood market. Variety of items. I have seen growth since the last visit and hope it continues. If you're looking for organic foods, there is only 1 booth. The others are represented with workers who can't offer much information on the products. ON THE OTHER HAND

There are some awesome shops! We purchased bottles of organic juice from Zo Zo. I wrote the young lady's name down so I wouldn't forget it and I lost it😔. She was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about her products. I will be sending a separate review for the company. And then there was Richard. He makes all kinds of fascinating things. The handmade wooden garden boxes caught our eye. He shared his knowledge with us and even gave us a recommendation for our fruit tree purchases.

Other booths are popcorn, soap, pet items, cook trucks, and spices/teas

SO... Get out to the market when you have a chance. I don't think you'll be...

Paddy's popcorn is amazing. I don't particularly care for popcorn but this one I'll make an exception for. If you want to try their signature "Houstons" you have to place an order to secure a bag. It literally sells out in 30 minutes. Next is Ange's gardens. They have a great assortment of Teas. I also love the Elderverry syrup and their Unique Flu Shot. I Have not met Ange yet but if her employee is a representation of her then she's probably worth meeting. I like the majority of the market but those are my top 2...and the vegan gumbo lady. I'll get them some pics later. I never got the pics...updated apr 1.
