Me, my wife and a couple of friends came here on a Sunday to hangout and take pictures. My wife and her female friend were wearing hanfu which are traditional Chinese clothes. However, our day was ruined by a couple of park employees who said we were not allowed to take pictures there because they were in "costumes" unless we had a professional photo shoot permit, even though we were taking pictures with phones and not trying to be in anyone's way. Read moreI was amazed to discover the Friendship Pavilion at McGovern Centennial Gardens. Initially, I thought it was part of the Japanese Garden, but it’s located in the southeast corner of the park along the Tudor Family Pine Hill Walk. This beautiful pavilion was a gift to Houston city from its sister city, Taipei, Taiwan, in 1976, and was relocated to its current position in 2014.
