HOLEY MOLEY! The name truly says it all.
I visited the 27 hole mini golf course this past Tuesday while I was traveling to celebrate my sister’s graduation. Parking was very easy and cheap ($5), as there is a large parking garage next to the establishment. Upon walking into the building, I knew my group (5 people) were in for a great time. The ambience is welcoming, nostalgic with a modern twist. The lighting is just enough to set the mood without it being too dark to actually see the ball.
The establishment is segmented with three 9-hole courses. Each course is located in a different section of the building, giving a more secluded feel and allowing for less chaos while playing. There was a plethora of putters, all different sizes. Not only were the clubs clean but they were also in perfect condition, allowing for no excuse to not hit the ball straight. We got to pick our golf ball colors from a gum ball machine, which was a really cool way to officially kick off each course. Each hole had a different theme, and some holes had chance factors involved. Personally, I think this is great especially if you are going with a large group of people, children, or just an avid golfer who swears they will beat you. The chance factor throws a twist in the mix. Each hole was clean, the greens were smooth, and the difficulty was just enough to make this a really fun time.
One of the best parts was the employees and service. We were drinking while playing, and there were a plethora of times someone came to check on us and see if we needed anything. The employees were not rude, nor did they interrupt us while we were mid-stroke. They helped create a playful vibe all while making sure we were taken care of. All our drinks came quick, within 1-2 holes of when we ordered. The drink menu had a variety of specialty cocktails and they were all made well. Additionally, we got the corn ribs and margarita pizza which were phenomenal. The flavor was bold and the presentation was much fancier than what you would get at Topgolf or another activity bar/restaurant. We weren’t thinking of getting food here, but I’m glad we did as it did not disappoint.
Lastly, we met the one of the owners while we were playing. He was welcoming with a big smile and even cracked some jokes that had our whole group laughing. While some owners are dismissing, this certainly was not the case. He even surprised our group by announcing on the speaker system a congratulations to my sister for her graduation, a gesture that made us all smile.
I’m an avid mini golfer and have been to different courses all over the United States and I can say this place is a 10/10. The mini golf is top-notch unique, the music is bumping tailoring to all generations, and the service and food could not have been any better. While I’ve played all 27 holes, I would definitely come back to this place. I would certainly be intrigued to try the karaoke rooms too. Highly, highly recommend for all ages and all...
Read moreI have been going to Holey Moley since they opened. When I lived 18 minutes away, I would come to Holey Moley after ice skating at the galleria (7 minutes from galleria), after playing golf, or just to have a drink and eat good food! It’s one of my favorite places in Houston that’s why now that I live 2 hours away, this place is still worth the drive! I love their cute, unique mini golf courses, the choice of music, the adorable food and drinks that are fairly priced and super yummy! I love that the team has fun energy and stay attentive to what you need. However, this previous time that I went on Aug 7th, I decided to try the private karaoke room with my friends who love to do karaoke. Let me tell you.. that part was not worth it. On Mondays-Thursdays, the karaoke room is $80 for 1 hour and $120 for 1.5 hours. Even though Holey Moley has some of the best choice of music, the actual karaoke room does not. Basically if you want a specific artist, it had very limited songs from that artist and some that you didn’t even know existed. The instrumental part is not that loud and your voice is louder there needs to be a better blend of that. A lot of the songs showed incorrect lyrics and it kept messing us up even though we know the real lyrics. It was also kind of hot in there just with 5 people, I can’t imagine how hot it would be with 15. They have a tall fan or ac unit in the room but none of the team members that I asked knew how to work it. All of this doesn’t allow you to have the best karaoke experience. Save your money, don’t pay $120 like I did for honestly a bad karaoke experience. I hope one day the Holey Moley team can fix that or get a different karaoke system because I know y’all have the best everything else. The concept of a private room is great but I know y’all can make the experience better. My friends and I tried to make the best of it and you know good company makes any place fun. I still give 5 stars because I really love this place and the team! Pics are from the previous time I came and one from Halloween 2024. Definitely make the drive here, look at their prices online (I included a few pics of some prices) and please tip your servers, they...
Read moreBeware, if you call in do not trust anything they say! They will say anything to get you to book and not uphold what was confirmer! Happened TWICE with 2 different employees/managers in regards to cancellation policy when booking in advance, and were told TWICE in advance we would receive a refund for members of our party who were sick. For them to acknowledge the conversation upon arrival and saying “yeah we aren’t going to do that.”
We had never been to Holey Moley before and called in to ask questions before booking a large party (12 people). We spoke to someone Sunday 4/21 in regards to booking for that next Saturday 4/27. Being that it is a large party and you have to pay in advance for everyone, we wanted to verify cancellation and refund policy. The caddy associate who answered had no clue on policy and put me on hold to ask the manager. I was informed we had TWO options, in house credit or refund, but was told it would take up to 5 business days because it is an Australian company. We were going to hold off on booking until later in week, depending on policy, so we went ahead and booked then based off conversation the manager confirmed.
Flash forward to conversation Friday, after half of the party came down with a nasty stomach bug and could no longer attend. Called in and was told by Dominique their policy was no refunds. Which was the exact opposite of prior conversation a manager relayed, so she got her manager Brittney and after discussing with a 2nd manager it was confirmed they would honor what we were told upon booking. They were making notes in our reservation and we just had to ask for manager upon arrival and they would process the refund.
Tonight upon arrival, they refused to process a refund and only provided a credit for our 7 members who couldn’t attend. After two separate conversations with different 2 different caddy associates and a manager confirming both times they would.
We feel absolutely taken advantage of and played for them saying whatever they needed to in order for us to book for a large party in advance. Just ensure they got the money regardless. Absolutely horrible customer service...
