Read moreAbsolutely Horrible ER Experience – Unprofessional, Unsanitary, and Fraudulent Billing
We had one of the worst ER experiences imaginable. I rushed my wife in after a feral cat bite, fearing possible rabies. She’s severely allergic to cats and was in serious pain. Despite the ER being nearly empty, we waited almost an hour with no sense of urgency from the staff. Someone briefly looked at her wounds and said help was “on the way,” but no one came for nearly an hour.
When we were finally taken back, we were led to a curtained-off area that was disgusting. There was an open trash can right next to the chair full of red biohazard waste — it looked like blood and vomit. I honestly almost threw up just looking at it and had to step away. It’s unacceptable that anyone would be placed in a space like that, especially someone in distress.
After about 20 minutes, someone in blue scrubs (who never introduced himself) finally showed up. He spent maybe 90 seconds with my wife. He just told her to wash her hands at the sink, then suddenly said she needed X-rays. That made zero sense and raised red flags. She made it very clear she was only there to find out if a rabies shot was needed — not for anything else.
We never saw an actual doctor. We were told someone named Nikhil Patel, MD was the attending physician, but no one introduced themselves as a doctor and every person we saw wore identical blue scrubs. No white coats, no names, no professionalism.
Later, another nurse asked if we had seen the doctor, and when we explained the brief visit from someone in blue, he was just as confused as we were. That’s when we found out that this hospital doesn’t even administer rabies shots — something we should have been told right away at the front desk.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, we were moved to another room that was filthy and clearly not cleaned. The nurse was visibly embarrassed and shocked that the room had been assigned to us and had to clean it himself before we could even enter. Absolutely unacceptable for a medical facility.
While waiting in that room, a woman from billing randomly came in before any further care had been given and aggressively demanded personal info. She was completely unprofessional and didn’t seem to understand anything we were saying. A different nurse had to physically remove her from the room due to her behavior. I’ve never seen anything like it.
Eventually, a competent nurse came in and gave my wife some basic medication for swelling and pain — something we could have handled at urgent care. Then came the biggest insult: a bill for over $1,000 for services we either never received or outright refused. Things like X-rays that never happened and a “doctor consultation” that flat-out didn’t occur.
This entire visit was an absolute disaster. The facility is unclean, the staff is unorganized, the communication is nonexistent, and the billing practices feel downright fraudulent.
We are filing a formal complaint, and we strongly believe this place should be investigated and possibly shut down for multiple health and safety violations.

This is absolutely THE WORST HOSPITAL IN MODERN HISTORY. Needs to be shut down or swamped with so many lawsuits they are forced to give up. My mother was chocking on something that got stuck, she was able to talk, move and was breathing but in severe pain. It pained her to even open her mouth. Take her to this disgrace of a hospital and guess what? They don't see her right away! She's in pain and nothing. We arrived at 12am (midnight) and they did not see her until 7am. Only to find out she needed to go to the other hospital! Curse this hospital and staff. If anything terrible happens or long term damage to my mother better bet I'm sueing.
This place is a death sentence with incompetent staff that do not care for those in need. If you want to live then do not come here unless absolutely necessary. They will do more harm than good. Do yourself and those you love a favor.
For those of you who have been affected by their malpractice then please contact a good lawyer and sue! EMTALA claim then with the state claim. What most people, including many lawyers and doctors do not know is that you can sue hospitals for failure to evaluate and/or stabilize a medical condition that causes harm to the patient under a federal statute. The statute is commonly referred to as the Emergency Medical Treatment & Labor Act (EMTALA).
EMTALA applies to almost all hospitals. (Any hospital participating in the Medicare/Medicaid program must abide by the rules set forth by EMTALA)
You can sue most departments in a hospital that perform medical exams, not just the emergency room. Court cases and administrative regulations have expanded who can be sued under EMTALA.
There are no caps on pain and suffering damages like in many state medical malpractice laws.
EMTALA does not require you to prove negligence, just that the doctor, nurse or hospital did not follow the exact requirements spelled out in the statute. This is called strict liability.
The time to sue is 2 years after the incident in the hospital. So if the state claim time limit to sue has passed you can still sue under the federal EMTALA within 2 years.
Hospitals are afraid of this investigation: If a violation of the statute is alleged, the federal government comes into the medical facility and investigates not just the claimed violation, but any violation of any type from the statute. This gives the plaintiff lawyer great leverage with the hospital to settle both the state malpractice and federal EMTALA claims quickly and quietly.
If hospitals are in serious violation of the EMTALA statute and do not promptly fix the problem they can lose their Medicare eligibility, which means they cannot collect money from Medicare. This could close the hospital. Trust me, hospitals are more afraid of losing Medicare eligibility than your single...
