Honestly— it’s a damn shame that the city and the owners don’t know what self accountability means. If you’re an adult, you should be allowed to skate at your own risk and chose to skate without a helmet. The staff in this park also practice favoritism, they allow the talented locals or “skate park heroes” to not wear their helmet. I have seen it MULTIPLE times. If you are a good well-known local, they will kiss your butt and not say anything to you for not wearing the helmet. A lot of them are below the age of 18 too, so why is it fair for some child, even if they are good to risk breaking themselves; but yet— adults who know self accountability cannot?? While everyone else is being monitored if you even do much just CRUISE without a helmet. Also, why even waste money on security if you already have staff? I’ve never been to a skatepark where they even enforce the adults to wear a helmet. Y’all couldn’t get insured? Then you shouldn’t have opened the park in the first place if you couldnt get the permit or scared to get sued. If you want the fun to be taken out of skateboarding and if you are a resident of Houston and want to see your tax dollars being put to waste towards security who are always on their high horse, then this park is for you. Wish I can...
Read moreThis place is a clean and welcoming environment! Even on crowded days, most everyone we have encountered is respectful, friendly and even helpful. The staff keeps an eye on things to make sure everyone is safe and okay. First timers must sign in and get a card to show each visit after, but it's free and quick to sign up.
Park does close down for inclement weather, for safety, but if there's time enough to dry out, they try to open back up as soon as possible.
There was a skate program early in 2022 that was for kids of all skill levels to have Mauricio, a pro skater and amazing instructor, help kids develop skills and confidence. Hoping it does start up for another round. We highly recommend anyone with a kid interested in skating to keep any eye out for this.
This park does have great lighting, so it's still fantastic to stay well after sunset. The parking lot can get a little tight because of the playground park and the popularity of...
Read moreBy far THE biggest waste of 75000 square feet of concrete i've ever seen in my entire life!!!
Just the fact that its strictly skate only! Even lake Cunningham skatepark in CA allowed bikes! Most of the skaters will mostly skate rails/ ledges/ and flatground. All the awesome bowls and pools pools go to total waste! A PUBLIC skatepark funded by tax payers SHOULD allow ALL extreme sports (even scooters), let alone the biggest one in the US!!! That's total DISCRIMINATION! Explain how rubber tires and plastic pegs damage parks more than steel skateboard trucks?!? Luckily there seems to be a few prefab skateparks in or near Spring TX which most likely allow bmx. :)
I'm just soooooo glad they are finally constructing a new bike park! The locals will finally have a safe place to ride...
