I had an incredibly disappointing experience with the manager during my visit. From the start, their attitude was rude and dismissive, showing no regard for customer service. Instead of handling the situation professionally, they came across as cold and uninterested, making the entire interaction uncomfortable. It was clear that they had no intention of being helpful or courteous.
What was most shocking was the complete lack of any empathy. In a customer-facing role, one would expect at least a basic level of understanding or an attempt to resolve concerns. However, this manager didn’t even pretend to care. There was no effort to be polite, no patience, and certainly no professionalism. The indifference they displayed made it obvious that customer satisfaction was not a priority.
A good manager should set an example for the team, ensuring that customers feel valued and respected. Instead, this person did the exact opposite. Their dismissive and unprofessional behavior not only created a negative experience for me but likely impacts others as well. It’s baffling that someone with such poor customer service skills holds a leadership position in a business that relies on customer satisfaction.
The overall atmosphere of the business is undoubtedly affected by management like this. Employees take cues from their leaders, and when a manager is this unapproachable and rude, it sets a poor standard. I can only imagine how difficult it must be for both staff and customers to deal with such an attitude regularly. A business that doesn’t prioritize customer experience is bound to lose loyal patrons over time.
After this experience, I have no reason to return. There are plenty of places where customers are treated with respect, and I’d rather spend my time and money somewhere that values good service. It’s unfortunate that such poor management is in place, but until things change, I won’t be...
Read moreReally decent and fair prices for most items here. Some are cheaper or comparable to prices online, which was a nice surprise! The store is absolutely enormous and personally I don’t think even one hour is enough to look through all the items. I went twice in two days and got some nice items. They were having a promotion for some of the Acnes Labo items which was cool. When I came and asked the employees, apparently they were sold out of their really popular items including the &honey hair product bottles and the Judydoll mascara.
Although majority items seem to be Japanese, they carry much more than Japanese items there. I believe I saw some Korean cosmetics (rom&nd, clio, Amuse, 3CE, dasique to name a few) and Chinese cosmetics (IntoYou, judydoll, Flortte, FlowerKnows, etc) which was impressive. I had never seen these Chinese cosmetics in any store prior. Overall the employees are knowledgeable and helpful! They give you your items in a really nice quality bag there after you purchase.
Overall a great store that I haven’t gotten to fully explore since there was so much to see. It is truly massive! I don’t have one in my area so it is a very interesting shop. Definitely worth a visit when I come down to Houston again.
Edit: -1 star because when I came back this recent time, the price that rung up at register for some of my items were not what was listed in the store for that item. I picked it up expecting to buy for one price and was charged another at the register. I believe the price was either outdated or wrongly listed, most likely. This happened for more than one item I was trying to buy.
Either way be careful to check your receipt after you buy and before leaving the store. It’s a shame really that with such a great store, the prices are not properly maintained. I was a bit disappointed. Sad that we have to check the price is...
Read moreYou can go to any store to buy Japanese or crane products in the Houston area but if it’s on sale at Teso, you can’t beat their prices. This week’s sale is on the Fino deep conditioning treatment that comes in these canisters with the top lid. I got it for 10.99. They go anywhere from 15 to 25.99 in the area. They also have her favorite oil cleanser, the softymo and there are all four types, the dark gold, regular gold, blue, and pink, which made for a deeper cleaning, makeup removal for blackheads or pigmentation.
This location is also my go to because it’s located in the same shopping center as the alley, which is a good classic place for Boba, Somi Somi, which is a Korean dessert shop, and Paris baguette.
There’s plenty of free parking, but I don’t know why everyone tries to park right in front of Teso life because that’s near one of the entrances right off Westheimer and it’s busy, so give yourself some space and park a little bit deeper in, maybe near Ranch 99. This parking lot can get a little bit dangerous because people drive quickly, so be careful and if you have a little kids, don’t let them just run through the parking lot.
Overall, this is one of the cleanest and newest shopping centers in the Westheimer area - you will see the layout and how it’s super inviting and new - and it feels like an extension of Belllaire with the best...
