the whole point of us going was to TRADE IN my husbands car, we were asked basic questions about his charger and after that, that was it we were told nothing else. Salesperson didn’t even talk to us about the process of trading in his charger, they ran his credit said it was poor, ran mine said i barely had any, then asked if we had any one who would CO SIGN for us and we said my mom so she went out of her way to drive to the dealership to meet us and give them her info. They told us she had better credit, ok cool. we’re thinking she’s gonna be able to CO SIGN! before we walked in, i gave daniel a call he mentioned to me that he could get us in a car with ZERO DOWN same day that it could depend on his credit but could also depend on CAR CREDIT AND POSITIVE CAR EQUITY ON HIS CHARGER!! that’s what convinced us to go in person and discuss everything, the minute he said ZERO down it caught our eye. he also mentioned to us we could possibly get a 60 day no payment, we expressed to him we were interested in a TRUCK USED. he brought out a van, a ford SUV, a Honda SUV. we agreed on the FORD SUV, we were told by the “manager” walter we could get a payment between 600-675$ we get sent over to the finance lady last name ( camacho) by this time it’s 9pm already i understand she wanted to go home to her daughter, but when it comes to business DO NOT RUSH YOU LEAVE THE CUSTOMER CLUELESS. she was rushing the whole process said she needed to get home to her daughter, my mom started signing paper work, and my mom gets confused and asked the finance lady if she needed my husband to sign ( my mom thought she was just CO SIGNING) and the finance lady said no EVERYTHING IS UNDER YOUR NAME NOT YOUR SON IN LAWS! me and my mom look at each other confused, i approached daniel and asked him about my mom being on all the paperwork instead of being a CO SIGNER, he said well your husbands credit is poor so your mom qualified for the car, That’s why your husband isn’t on any of the paperwork and your mom is. Back to the finance lady she didn’t tell my mom the monthly payment, she didn’t mention anything to my mom. so like i said my mom and me and my husband were all left CLUELESS! i’ve been dealing with the dealership SINCE AUGUST 2 AND STILL TIL THIS DAY AUGUST 18 MONDAY. the lender returned the deal to the dealership, i called BALTIMORE to let him know they returned it friday, he told me give them a call back that he was going to resend the paperwork to them For me to call them back in 30 minutes or to try and call the following Saturday ( AUGUST 16). Fast forward to Monday, August 18. I called them today and they returnd the deal again. So I called Baltimore to let him know that they returned the deal again and to also expressed to him that we were interested in the process of returning the car Because it’s been a lot of back-and-forth with the dealership ever since we got the car, I also spoke to Jonathan, and I also spoke to the sales manager. I called and asked Jonathan to speak to TONY T because I wanted to report Employees of his to Also let him know that they are very unprofessional and they don’t know how to communicate with the customer. Jonathan expressed to me that he is the person in charge of the dealership and that there was no contact information for TONY, And that if I wanted to report any employees, I needed to report them to Jonathan. I expressed to him multiple times that I wanted to speak to TONY T if I could have his contact information, He wouldn’t give it to me. He just kept coming up with excuses, I also let Jonathan know what was the process of returning the car if we could get our money back and I gave him my mom’s name because everything is under my mom’s name once again and he said well there is no...
Read morePromises made promises broken. I bought a used 2020 Jeep Rubicon from this place, mostly because they were open when most other places were closed. This boon ended up being a curse. We found a pretty good jeep on the lot, but it needed some work. Passenger visor, back seat latch, crack in the windshield. Nothing major. I was told these things would be taken care of, and I even went so far as to purchase the extended "bumper to bumper" warranty.
9 months later and the seat latch and crack are still broken. The service department had me bring in the Jeep several times, and did nothing while the Jeep was there. They left me without a vehicle 3 times and did literally nothing. Any time I needed information, no one knew anything when I called, and no one returned my calls. Each time I needed to talk to someone, I'd needed to drive over there (30-60 mins each time depending on traffic) to repeat my story to someone new and then they would need to go investigate. Often taking more than an hour of wait time. I've probably spent over 20 hours trying to get these repairs done, not including time spent on the phone.
The incedent that has me thinking I never want to see this place again, they game me a rental (which was an annoying POS Renegade) and said my Jeep's seat latch would be repaired in 1 day. I gave them over the weekend. They told me they would pay for the rental till Tuesday. Tuesday rolled around, no call. So, I called them. No one knows anything. I ask to speak to the service manager, who was supposed to be the one who was taking care of my case, as the girl who was handling my case had issues and stopped working there. (which was a whole other issue in and of itself.)
Anyways, Dan or Dave or whatever didn't call me back, so I went back up there because I wasn't going to pay any extra for the rental. When I got there, I was lied to by the service director who said the Jeep was almost done, but they needed more time. They asked me for 24 hours. I said no, I want my Jeep now. After about half an hour of delay for no reason, they pull the Jeep around. It was in the exact state that I gave it to them. They didn't even move the cloth that I put on the latch so I'd know if they touched it.
In other words, they gave me a rental for 4 days and didn't even attempt to do the repair.
This is the type of behavior I would come to expect from one of those sleezy used car mom and pop shops. Not from a large dealership like Gulfgate Dodge. Now that I think about it, Dodge/Jeep must have some sort of standards, so I'm going to see about reporting these guys.
Anyways, stay away. Service department is literally the worst I have ever experienced. Also, don't get the extended warranty. It doesn't cover what you'd expect, and the finance guy will lie...
Read moreI had the absolute worst car buying experience at this dealership—and I would never recommend anyone do business here.
I purchased a Jeep that broke down twice within the first week. It was returned to me twice with the exact same issue still unresolved. It accelerated on its own without throttle input, shut off at stop lights, and became a full-on safety hazard that put my life—and others on the road—at risk. Despite providing video evidence of these dangerous malfunctions, the dealership’s techs were clueless and couldn’t properly diagnose or fix the issue.
I tried to return the Jeep, but Phil, the sales manager, refused to work with me. He offered me $6,000 less than I had paid for it—after owning it for only a week. He was more concerned with “protecting Tony’s assets” than helping a customer who was clearly in a dangerous and unfair situation. When I asked to trade for a safer vehicle, he tried to squeeze even more money out of me. He also lied to the finance manager about our trade-in agreement and forced me into paying for a LoJack system I had explicitly declined. When I tried to speak with him genuinely, he dismissed my concerns and said, “At the end of the day, you signed the paperwork,” which told me everything I needed to know.
Phil is a dishonest, unethical sales manager, and he made an already stressful situation ten times worse. His behavior was manipulative and predatory, and it’s shocking that someone like this is in a leadership position.
I want to be clear—I’ve been extremely patient throughout this entire experience. I gave the dealership multiple opportunities to make things right and improve the situation. I don’t like leaving negative reviews because I understand that things happen—but I also believe in giving businesses a chance to correct their mistakes. Unfortunately, in this case, they simply couldn’t or wouldn’t.
The only person at this dealership who deserves recognition is Alex, the service advisor. He was the only one who communicated with me, took my calls when the Jeep broke down (even outside of business hours), and genuinely tried to help. He was supportive and respectful, even when his hands were tied. Unfortunately, he didn’t have the power to fix the bigger picture—only Phil did, and he failed miserably.
I ended up privately selling the Jeep within a month just to get out from under the mess. That’s how bad it was. I didn’t even get to use a full tank of diesel before it had to go.
If you value your time, money, safety, or sanity—do not buy from...
