I had been a regular at this teahouse for months, dropping by 1-3 times per week on my own to grab a drink before work or with a friend after work. It was a convenient stop because it was on the way.
My usual order has always been the passion fruit green tea with whatever jelly or boba I was craving that day or night.
This last time I was on the way home and dropped by. I ordered a passion fruit black tea with mixed fruit jelly for my partner and passion fruit green tea with mixed fruit jelly and NO ICE for myself. Not only was my order given to me wrong since both of the drinks were made with black tea (even though the label stamped on my drink itself said green tea) but my specific drink was given to me in a smaller cup because I ordered it without ice.
I had to walk back inside after entering my truck because I noticed they were both black tea instead of one black one green. They agreed that they made a mistake and would fix the drink. I also asked why I paid the same price for both drinks yet I received a smaller cup for one of them. The store manager said that she would have my drink fixed and give it to me in a normal sized cup this time but that usually if someone orders a tea with no ice they receive their drink in a smaller cup due to corporate's rules on that.
If I have to pay the same price regardless, and I order my drink without ice, I would much rather they add some water to my tea to fill the gap and give me my drink in a regular sized cup than to receive a smaller cup. That is just my preference.
Needless to say, this experience will stop me from continuing to be a regular at The Teahouse and I will find another boba tea company I feel more inclined and compelled to spend my money at.
Another thing I noticed one night I was here is that a female barista was flirting with a female customer's boyfriend when handing them their drinks. After handing them their drink, she stopped them from walking off by asking them to try it and let her know how they liked it. Then she got giddy and leaned all the way forward onto the counter, sitting her elbows and chest on it and holding her mouth open continuously while staring at the female customer's boyfriend and then raising her leg up behind her and keeping it that way in the air. She remained in this described stance for a good minute. I had to witness this cringe moment because I was right there by the register ordering my drink while that was happening. She came off inappropriately promiscuous and extra. Perhaps the couple did not mind, I have no way of knowing, but I felt it was uncalled for and unprofessional.
Now that I have expressed my experience here. I wish everyone the best....
Read moreI should’ve posted this weeks ago, and I keep thinking about it so here we go.
I wouldn’t say the customer service is great at any time we’ve been in, but the drinks are usually good so we don’t care as much.
(Thursday, January 7th around 1pm)
A coworker and I went in around lunchtime. The girl at the register wasn’t super friendly, and I thought maybe she was upset that we weren’t masked at first but maybe that’s just her personality. No big deal- we wear masks all day long at work and have no issue masking. My friend ordered her drink and some eggrolls and we sat down at the long table. Well about half an hour goes by and other people are coming and going with their orders. So she gets up to ask & sees her drink is just sitting behind the counter melting away. So she gets the drink and all of the employees disappear behind the door before she can ask about her eggrolls. We check the receipt and see she was charged for them so we wait. We would’ve just left otherwise. So we wait a few more minutes and a guy finally comes back out. She tells him and he starts working on the eggrolls they forgot. She has ordered them other times that we’ve gone so she knows what they taste like. She receives the eggrolls and basically said they didn’t taste right (like rotten) so we throw them away and leave. I’m sure the eggrolls are frozen so I don’t know how they’d go bad unless there are issues with the freezer or something. Who knows.
Lastly, if you’re going to provide food and drink for customers to consume on the premises, then you really should have the restroom open to your paying customers as well. It’s kind of rude. I see people studying there and I guess having to like leave and go use the restroom somewhere else...
Read moreAVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST. Walked in and order 2 drinks one of which I asked if they had almond milk for…obviously means I want an almond milk substitute, however my drink was not being make w it AT ALL, although it was made clear while placing the order. And my 8yo wanted fries. So I ordered “fries w spicy seasoning on the side”. The fries WERENT EVEN COOKED! At $5 I walked back to nicely mentioned they weren’t cooked. A girl took them and walked off without a word. Ok?! When I get the “cooked” fries there’s HOT Seasoning all over it. My child was upset that she’s having to wait 10+ minutes for another, making it a total of 25-30m for fries. As I’m waiting I hear “check the cameras”??!!! 10m goes by then it’s “we need the ones we just gave you in order to make new ones??”…no regards for the inconvenience this caused!!! As someone who works in the food industry we try to make it right with our customers, especially new customers (as I mentioned I was) I would have let the customers AT LEAST keep the fries if they wanted to, since it wasn’t customers fault and the wait wasn’t a short one. Although I wasn’t thrilled w the service I was still trying to be optimistic but after my 8yo mentioned the service was HORRIBLE AND SHE NEVER COMPLAINSI immediately requested a refund for the fries but was met with a condescending smile and was told I wouldn’t be given a receipt….So we’re was my proof of the refund?! I visited tea places frequently dropping 20+ dollars every time but this isn’t a place I will EVER SPEND MY MONEY AGAIN!!!!!!! If they can’t cook fries I DON’T want to know what other corners are being cut here! Are the ingredients even fresh?!! WOULD GIVE IT ZERO STARS...
