Ross Dress for Less — Local services in Houston

I’ve never had any issues shopping at this Ross. Yes, I know it’s messy but this has always been one of my favorite Ross store because they always have a variety of things compared to other stores I’ve been. Just recently I took a trip to this store looking for home items I was in the home department when I noticed the staff marking down a lot of items for clearance of course my thoughts were yay!! but I then noticed as they were marking down items they were setting the items into a cart as they did this the security people were also handing them items to put aside for them. I really didn’t think much of it until I noticed as I was paying for my items the workers were also paying for the items they had set aside. Not sure what policy they have for employees but I’ve worked retail and we were always told that we could only shop before or after work or during our break and we were not allowed to set items aside. Yes, I know I probably sound bitter and it did make me kinda upset cause they were literally hogging a bunch of items. I did make the store manager aware of this and he told me he would look into it which of course I know he will more than likely not. I now know that this Ross I more than likely will not be...

I love shopping at Ross, but the location is THE PITS!

First off, it is the filthiest store I've even been in. There were HUGE piles of dust bunnies EVERYWHERE. The inventory was picked over and I got home to find one of the pairs of shoes I got were two left feet!

I still ended up spending quite a bit of money, only to have the manager be rude and insulting. During my transaction, I noticed that a set of washcloths I bought had fallen on the floor and picked up one of the said dust bunnies.

I asked to go get another set to exchange it. She insisted the item had to be re-rung because I might return it later and they would need the receipt. I almost returned my $200+ order RIGHT THEN. It was the nasty way she insinuated...

But the cashier was very nice and got me in and out without waiting AGAIN. Honestly, thinking about how dirty the store was gives me creeps even now. Needless to say, I washed everything...

Fernanda the manager prefers for the male employees to stand around talking rather than help people out, she preferred not to sell the merchandise than give customers the help they need . I was waiting for more than 10min for someone to bring down a rug so I could purchase it , i was told 2x that someone would come down to help me since the rug was stuck in the middle of all the others & hard for me to do it alone , after that I would’ve been ok carrying it out i never asked for nothing else than to help me bring it down. After i was there for more than 10min She told the guy to tell me no & was very rude about it , stating they did not have anyone to do that , when they have always done it ! It’s clearly not her store so she doesn’t care about sales , she was just rude and she was also standing around...
