I’m usually not one to write “reviews” but I’m so disappointed and displeased with this Pappas location. They jacked up my ENTIRE order and when I called and spoke with the manager (Roger), he completely blew me off because it was “dinner time.” I can understand he was busy but two weeks prior, I came through the drive-thru with my family and we ordered what we normally get. It was all wrong. I called back with information from the receipt (Jacqueline was the order taker I’m assuming and I don’t remember the order number) and the expectations of once I report this, I’d be invited to have the order remade the correct way with proof of receipt. (This is what I’m used to after 24 years of patronage) Not the case, I’m told we’ll send you out a gift card and wait a week for it. 2 weeks past and I call dismissive Roger, who blames Dee (the person allegedly responsible for sending out the gift cards) for not doing her job. After asking if we could just get the order made right if we return, I’m told no! To call Dee in the morning!!! I grew up on this food and when I was younger, would visit this very location. I believe they’re the only two story location we have and my family and I loved sitting upstairs. It was one thing to change the taste of the baked potatoes (the ONLY thing I eat from there) with the new bacon bits but then not to be able to serve myself sour cream or bacon bits anymore at the self serve bar, deal with these jacked up prices because of these horrible changes and then, To be met with rude managers (Roger) and be treated like the $$$ I had paid for two potatoes and a burger was nothing and the “we don’t have time to address your issue as a previous paying customer” because it’s dinner time attitudes they have now have sealed the deal for me. I encourage everyone to save your money and go somewhere else. The food is mediocre and if you want a big baked potato go to the stuffed potato factory. There’s one within a few miles of this location. You can get two for the price of one pappas potato. And they are huge!!! Stay away...
Read moreCame from the Heights side of town to this area because my husband wanted BBQ closer to home. Had I known the service was going to be so horrendous, I would have never stopped here as there were plenty of options in the Heights area. I went through the drive thru and was immediately advised that they were out of ribs, French fries and potatoes. With that being said, I ordered brisket, sausage beans and yams. The girl (Stephanie G) that took my order I could tell was being snarky with her response anytime I asked something pertaining to what they did have. When I pulled up, I saw a worker carry a tray full of ribs. (Probably to take home since they “were out”) When she handed me my bag of food it was dripping with something I had no idea what. I could see they were cleaning in the background and asked what time they closed and she responded now. I then asked her what was dripping and she said oh it’s just water. I had to ask for a napkin to clean it up as it was dripping all over my car and me. I then asked for bread, and Stephanie immediately stated they ran out of bread too. I was like really? She didn’t even bother looking. How do you run out of bread at a major BBQ establishment. The manager (Alex Garza) behind her was laughing as though something was funny so I asked to speak to him and he then proceeded to explain he wasn’t laughing at me. I then asked for corporate’s number and then is when he apologized and stated that they do have bread. I told him I get it if y’all are ready to go home. I would have preferred you tell me that instead of taking my order and not providing what is needed, given I spent $18 for a plate. Another girl in the background said yeah. He had no control of his workers and seemed immune to their unprofessional manor. It’s sad that this area is already limited to good restaurants and for a Pappa’s chain to also go down in service is not...
Read moreI have always loved all of the Pappas restaurants but unfortunately I had a horrific experience at this location. I ordered a BBQ baked potato with chopped beef, to go. The meat portion was a bit small especially for the price. When I got home and began eating, I felt a sharp hard object in my mouth. I spit it out. It was a bone!! Almost resembling a fish bone. I have no idea from what animal this thing came from as beef brisket does not have bones in it. Nothing on their menu is served with bones except the rib plate, but those are very large bones. This was a tiny thin bone and I am horrified to say it may have come from some small animal. I took a photo. I was absolutely disgusted and threw the entire thing away. Needless to say I will never dine here ever again! I got very ill and vomited several times that night as well. Be cautious about what they’re serving you!! 🤮🤮🤮 Update— the manager called me and apologized for my experience. He told me it was likely a fragment of chicken bone as they cook whole chickens and chop them up. He said they use the same counter cutting boards and although they’re not supposed to cross contaminate cutting the beef and chicken together, it’s likely a cook made a shortcut and did that and bone fragments got mixed into my chopped brisket. Still absolutely disgusting to me especially given I was not expecting to chew a bone and I got sick. They offered to refund me. Nice gesture to reach out but definitely does not make up for the horrible experience and extended sickness I endured. Especially since it was my birthday 😭. Never eating Pappas bbq again. Killen’s...
