I shop at this food Lion at least a couple times a week. It's typically a good experience except for the lack of checkout Lanes.

Just today however I had a bad experience trying to buy a turkey. The advertise and sell the frozen turkey at 29 cents a pound. They tell you on the sign that you have to spend at least $35. They don't tell you the other rules that apply however.

So, I take a turkey up front and have my other items that come up to at least $35. This turkey turns out does not have a tag on it so I have to take it to the back of the store and place it back in the frozen section and pick out another turkey. Unfortunately the turkey I picked out was 9 lbs and I did not no that it needed to be 10 lbs.

I knew the total was wrong but the checkout lady said that it took off what it's supposed to take off.

I go ahead and check out knowing that something wasn't right and then get out to my car and while I'm loading everything I read the receipt and then I have to Google what the actual restrictions are to find out that the turkey has to be at least 10 lbs.

So I took the turkey and all my items. back into food Lion and I got a refund.

If your checkout lady and the manager scanning everything back in upon my return can't tell me the correct requirements to get the deal then I don't care and I'll just go buy my...

I regularly visit this location and am almost always greeted with respect and dignity by the staff employed here, unfortunately this staff could teach their management a lesson in customer service as I was not only threatened to be kicked out of the store for simply asking a question but was also mocked to my face as though my question was not valid. I have cashed the same type of check at this store on the same day consistently for several months and not until Robert Webber (if that is indeed his name) was the one handling my inquiry have I had any issue. I asked Robert why he insisted that he could not cash my check and instead of giving me a solid answer or showing me any level of respect he openly mocked me in front of other guests. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had in any business and I hope that this mans staff can teach him to better fulfill his role as a leader and role model for good...
