This is under new ownership, previously O.E.X., now Everyday California Huntington. I met the new owners Chris & Bryan when I randomly walked in. I have never kayaked or done paddle boarding & they were so personable. I learned they also have the above offered in San Diego, with tour guided cave type scenery, which I will add to my list the next time I am there. I highly recommend this location because of their sincere hospitality & equipment options. For anyone who’s never done this, just a few potential helpful tips. Make sure you have something waterproof to protect your phone. They sell a floatable waterproof case. Having your phone handy to capture the beauty that the harbor has to offer, music & GPS to help you guide you to a local beach 🏖️ or local restaurants is key. (Peter’s Landing- personally I love the restaurant, Pelican Isle with the assortment of food, alcohol & tranquility that overlooking the harbor provides). Also, if your time was flexible, timing this adventure to enjoy a sunset would be glorious but… know later in the day, the beach area gets more windy & adventurous may become more strenuous if you are fighting the wind to work your way back to return equipment. I took a picture on the wall to see different “routes” and the military area to stay away from. Also, know you can pack a cooler. I packed light with some waters & snacks. I would also recommend wearing a swimsuit or board shorts because you will probably get wet when paddling. Also, look at weather before you go out, so you know at what level to layer your clothes. I also brought sunblock, towels, a hat & change of clothes.
My son was in town from Texas & us sharing a kayak was a fabulous way to catch up, exercise lightly, enjoy the harbors beauty & create memories together. I cannot recommend Everyday California Huntington enough! They are...
Read morePaddle boarding was on my Bucket List! I wasn’t sure if I could do it, but I wasn’t getting any younger, so I decided to go for it. I went through Get Your Guide and found this place for beginners. I was hoping to get a small group lesson with a girl since I had a great experience in the past on this app. I got so lucky with just my son and I, and an amazing, patient instructor. I found out he was a SUP athlete to boot (by the name of Tom Jones!). He got us boards for beginners (wider and thicker), and taught us some important safety guidelines for use then and in the future. The staff at Everyday CA was very friendly, and brought the boards out to the beach area, which was right next door to the shop. Tom showed us how to use the paddle and how to safely get on the board to not damage it. We started paddling on our knees, which was surprisingly felt in the thighs. After we learned how to change directions, we went up a calmer “alley” to try to stand up. My son was preparing to laugh at me when I fell in, but I surprised him and myself by being able to stand up without toppling over. I was surprised at how taxing it was to stay standing and paddle. We turned around and made our way back while standing. Tom told us a bit of interesting history about the area. By the time we got to the main channel, I was tired, so knee paddling was more comfortable for me so that’s how I finished up our lesson. Overall, it was a fantastic experience for my son and I. I would highly recommend taking a lesson if you are interested in paddleboarding. This location was perfect for a beginner’s experience. Highly recommend Everyday California...

Took someone who didn't have a board, let them use mine and rented one from Everyday Cali. They had me carry a life jacket (slipped it under the bungees at the nose), but didn't require me to wear it. Consent form was standard and easy to sign online the day before. They have a promo where if you book in person you save some money, but $40 for two hours? It's easier for me to just reserve online, tbh. That was also decent. I wasn't trying to go on a busy day though, so can't add anything there. For a couple hours in a pretty area, this is a good time. I guess it could get pricey if you have a bunch of board rentals? But still. I'd say it's well worth it. They provide a map (which was nice to peek at, but I'm local and paddle here often so didn't take one with me). If you've never paddleboarded before, they'll walk you through it. The person that assisted me answered any questions I had, handed me a life jacket and paddle set the SUP up in the water. He saw me walking over and asked if I had paddleboarded before. They very clearly want to ensure you enjoy yourself.
Two hours felt kind of perfect. I was going to book more, but couldn't take the time off work and get out there before 2:30, so we were beholden to closing time, but it worked out. Maybe another 30 to 45 minutes would have been nice, but I get it.
Four stars for a quality experience. Nothing spectacular (for a boring local who only needed a board and paddle) Nothing to...
