I have always loved King Neptune's! It's changed over the decades, adding a bar and live music; the place was hoppin' when we were there Saturday evening. Nice to see they still have the scrimshaw collection on display (sort of) RIP Beautiful button-wallpapered-Women's-Restroom, the but the new one was clean and well stocked! We chose to eat on the Patio. The chairs left something to be desire for us larger folks but we're delighted to report they survived our tenancy!!! Chico was our server and super on top of things. We ordered several appetizers, the sautéed mushrooms, crab-stuffed mushrooms, jumbo shrimp cocktail, and the calamari. All items were excellent but sadly the calamari was bland and not even salted. We also ordered the steamed mussels. They were sweet and fresh but sadly also lacking any sort of flavor or seasoning. On to our dinner choices, 2 orders of swordfish - EXCELLENT. I got the King Crab Leg (one pound/one BIG leg) and could not finish it! So sweet, amazing quality. Great baked potatoes, fresh steamed veggies, it was a wonderful feast. I saw Juan when I went in to use the lady's room. He had been so helpful when I was making our reservation. I shared briefly we had loved our meal and time there but uh yeah, something needs to be done with the calamari and mussels. I had not asked this nor expected it but he took both items off our bill. I know restaurants can't afford to do that; I was very impressed. GO HERE. EAT HERE. We had a...
Read moreStopped by on St. Patrick's Day for green beers and were pleasantly surprised by how good the food was! We had the shrimp cocktail which was fresh and the cocktail sauce was really good. We also had the corned beef, cabbage & pototao dinner, and I can honestly say that it's the best we've ever had! The corned beef was uniquely and deliciously seasoned. The cabbage was cooked just perfect and the potatoes were just as enjoyable. The portions were also very generous, and even we packed some home for lunch the next day. Pricing was good & fair compared to other local places, so I can see why one might want to dine here more frequently than other spots.
The genrtlman who took our order was part of the family and was very welcoming, friendly & helpful with the menu.
Parking can probably be a challenge on nights when they have bands playing, but we got lucky and had no problem finding great parking just steps from the door.
We even ran into some people we know and met some new people who raved about the crab legs, so we're looking forward to trying those on...
Read moreThis place seemed like it would be a score on steak and seafood when I came in it was like a dive bar with a little restaurant to the left I loved the giant fish tank and the beachy Decor even though it seemed a little. Outdated. the shrimp appetizer was Tiny to say the least and the crab stuffed mushrooms were Gray and I could not find any crab but after eating one I sent it back and I'm glad I did because I got sick later the cheese toast was probably the best thing I had but it look like it was made by my mother I wouldn't recommend this place because all of the steak and seafood was at market price and the waitress told me it was $60 for one crab leg. The waitress kept running away before I could ask her for anything and she wasn't very good at seeding people because she kept sitting people right across from each other which was kind of awkward. I might come back to try the dive bar but I would definitely not be back for...
