Big Spring International Park, located in downtown Huntsville, Alabama, is a cherished urban oasis centered around the historic "Big Spring," the city's original water source. The park features attractions such as the Huntsville Museum of Art and the Von Braun Center, and is adorned with a picturesque red Japanese bridge and cherry trees, gifts symbolizing international friendship.
The park hosts numerous events throughout the year, including the Panoply Arts Festival each April and the Tinsel Trail, a display of live Christmas trees, from late November through December.
Visitors can enjoy feeding the friendly ducks, geese, and koi that inhabit the spring, making it a delightful spot for families and nature enthusiasts.
Big Spring International Park is also the anticipated trailhead for the future Singing River Trail of North Alabama, a 70-mile biking and walking trail that will connect Huntsville to neighboring cities, enhancing regional connectivity and outdoor recreation opportunities.
Whether you're interested in cultural events, leisurely strolls, or simply enjoying the serene environment, Big Spring International Park offers a blend of natural beauty and community spirit in the heart...
Read moreThis is my favorite place to show to people who visit my town from out of town or a different state. Everything in downtown Huntsville is accessible from this point forward. There's paid parking and paid parking decks. If you're lucky, you can find a place to parallel park for free 😂 I see photographers here all the time taking pictures for senior photographs, wedding pictures, etc. Beautiful setting and lots of friendly people everywhere! Events are hosted here quite often as well but I can't name them all by name. Definitely 10/10 and kid friendly. You should absolutely get some food for the fish and ducks as there are a lot of them! Your kids are guaranteed to enjoy it! Mine like the waterfall in particular and the tunnel. The tunnel is my least favorite part with kids because they all like to scream and make echoes 😂 but lots of good musicians will sit there and play guitar and it's nice to watch and listen to. Hotels are nearby as well if you're planning on staying...
