Parkway Place — Attraction in Huntsville

This location isn't terrible but also isn't great. Locals would say it's turning into the Madison Square mall which is nearly completely empty. Though this location is filled almost completely with vendors. A lot of it is out of date and run down. The public restrooms are disgusting. Belk and Dillard's operate separately from the mall itself. So the hours are based on the companies preferences. In weather situations the mall owners dictate weither or not they can open.Dillard's has a better formal selection (prom etc). And Belk is all about having as much to offer as they can. Be prepared to be asked to sign up for a Belk card. Dillard's is the cleanest department store in the mall while Belk should be considered a health hazard. This location does have a DMV for renewals but not for obtaining a license. This location can be very convenient considering the state has closed most other offices in the area. My car disappeared out of the parking lot outside Dillards here today while I was shopping. I called Huntsville police and was told that someone was driving through the parking lot “scanning plates” and that my car was “supposed to be repo’d”, so they let them take it (!). My car was not “supposed to be repo’d”, and thus now I’m wasting my time on a wild goose chase figuring out what happened to my car. The car also had clothing, books and medications which are now also obviously missing. The police were otherwise completely useless and would not take a report or tell me where the car had been taken. Anyone who shops here should be aware that the local cops are apparently ok with random people “scanning plates” and stealing cars out of the parking lots as long as they claim to be a “repo guy”. Being the only mall in town it's ok. Its lacking if you are used to bigger malls. The food court is insanely crowded, they need to rearrange the tables. On the weekends dont expect to find a place to sit. They need a bigger variety of food choices than 4 "chinese" places. Get something better. The bathrooms are horrifying. The ones in the food court area, half of the stalls in the womens room dont even close all the way, so good luck trying to lock the door. The ones downstairs smell disgusting. I dont know if the mall is in charge of the air conditioning, or if its each individual store but today it was cooler outside than it was inside. How are you expected to try on clothes when its 90 degrees in the stores. Every store we went to had a fan blowing for the employees, but it was still so hot. Oh and parking.. that's a huge joke. Whoever thought of the parking structure needs to be smacked....
